So I noticed on WindMobile that there is a new package for prepaid.

No idea on the reviews on the phone but has a $10 credit and sim is included I believe.

From Wind's site.
http://shop.windmobile.ca/ProductCatalog/Handsets/HandsetDetails.aspx?id=Gowell+G328%28WINDCA%29&color=orange

Plus with the purchase of the GoWell G328, you also get:
• 6 months of unlimited evening and weekend calling
• Unlimited Incoming calls
• Bonus $10 activation credit
• Call Control features (Caller ID, Missed Call Alerts, Conference Calling, Call Forwarding, and Call Waiting)
• Enjoy our great Pay Your Way Rates of 20₵/minute, 15₵/text, and $1/MB

The GoWell G328 boasts all of the key features that one would expect from a value packed feature phone, including:A 2.0MP camera, numeric keypad for dialing and texting, and an FM Radio.

You can add Unlimited CA/U.S. Text $5/mo but yes that would have been a scorcher if so hah.

I can't believe they had to explicitly state "numeric keypad for dialing and texting"...so little to write about it that the obvious had to be written?

Thank!
Hunting for a temporary number. Buying a sim card and some credit may cost me the same. I may go for it...

WOW! Check out the features!! A "Numeric Keypad for dialing"!

HAHAH

No more getting my fingers jammed in those Rotary phones! :)

$1 / MB? WTF?

So, if I buy this phone I get 6 months unlimited evenings and week-ends + unlimited incoming calls, or do I actually have to top up each month $5 ? he he he I am cheap.

I am just doing the calculations...

$59 for the phone, then you have to pay $5 a month to top up to keep the account active.. to you are at $89 + taxes.

so about $15 a month...

HAHA.. I would love to bring this back to the store to return it..

Ya, so why are you returning the phone?

me: "it did not GoWell"

I can't believe Wind is doing the "unlimited evenings and week-ends" crap now... they're turning into Rogers.

honestly, the deal is not that bad. I know there are alot of ppl who wants to try wind but is afraid of their network coverage. Instead of committing to a long contract, this might be a good idea to try them out.

Does the phone come with a SIM card?

If so, could I technically just sell the phone away, and put the SIM card into another phone?

Wind doesn't have any contract, you don't have to make any commitment to them and you're free to leave any time.

Yeah calling isn't even the problem on 3G networks when it comes to load. Its really just internet traffic.

It only made sense to bill that way on previous 1G and 2G networks. Nowadays its all just a gouging technique. Just stop it wind...

wind doesn't have contract but if you get a $0 phone, you are stuck with the tab or else you have to buy the phone outright.

Is that really true? My impression from the ad is that the "service life" is at least 6 months without needing to add any airtime (e.g. if one only makes voice calls during evening/weekend) . Does anyone know for sure which way it is?

(Wind's SIM at $25 is crazy expensive, and as some others say, it could be worthwhile deal to take the SIM and plan and use it in another better phone ...)

Anyone have any info yet on this...does this contract require to purchase additional airtime each month or is it good for 6 months as stated? Also do the "unlimited incoming calls" apply for any carrier that calls your phone?

Just a note to all potential buyers of this bundle: you cannot refund the box, and you cannot transfer your old number into this package!

I was reassured by the Wind rep before I ordered that I would be able to transfer my old number to this package. After receiving it today, I tried to activate it, and was told by another rep that I will be unable to transfer my old number into this package. When I asked about my return options, I was told that this package is non-refundable. A manager said the same thing after I escalated this matter. So now I am left with a phone I have no use for and $60 short in my bank. This is my first experience with Wind, and I think it will be my last.

It's a special offer. But I've ported onto Pay-As-Go.

It's weird.

I receive it and activate it today, the expiry date of the $10 credit is Nov 30th. Not 2 months nor 3 months.
