I searched around previous posts and saw a few similar questions about mixing different brand names but not exactly the same. Answers were different too. I figured I'll throw it out just to be safe.
Right now I have:
G.SKILL F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL Ripjaws PC3-12800 4GB 2X2GB DDR3-1600 CL9-9-9-24 1.5V on a Gigabyte P55A-UD3 board. I was wondering if I added a 2x4GB (for a total of 12GB) G.SKILL kit at all exact same specs, should I expect any problems? I found one guy posting on other forums that had some memtest fails with that exact setup but wasn't sure if that's just an isolated incident.
I'm sure there is no difference between me having 8gb and 12gb total but I figure why not see if I can just add it to what I already have since RAM is fairly cheap.
