View Full Version : Parking at celebration square/Mississauga for Canada day?

Never been down to celebration square in Mississauga. Planning to go down to tonight for fireworks and Dragonette (Carly Rae Jespen is performing too btw). Can someone recommend a good area to park that is close by and won't be crazy hard to get out of after? They are closing Burnathorpe and some other roads in the area. Do people just park at square one for events like this? Better to park in a further lot and walk?

Park as far away as possible but no matter what you will be stuck in traffic once the fireworks finish.

Just an update for future reference..
Place was PACKED. They said 30,000 people for the concerts and like 120,000 for fireworks... Cars EVERYWHERE. We parked in a lot just south of Square One (office building with a Tim Hortons). Officially I think it isn't "public" parking but the lot filled up with cars. I parked close to the exit and backed into the spot (saw so many people that were trying to back out with a huge line of cars after fireworks). But, in the end, we decided to chill in the car and watch my playbook because the cars were hardly moving at all. Took an hour to get out of the lot yet there was STILL traffic.
Overall, it was a nice evening but they need more food vendors in the future (maybe set some up on the street after they close it down) and they need a better sound system. We were pretty far back and the sound was pretty horrible. Mayor Hazel came out at one point and it sounded like she had more cheers than any of the musical performers!

Big events like these just goes ot highlight how the Mississauga City Core was so badly designed, good on sauga for trying to remedy it after the fact,
