i am trying virtualdub and it sucks, is not able to edit most video files. i need something more powerful, what is the killer app for video editing?

But you may find the software a bit overwhelming. Depending on what you're doing, you may just want to go with Premiere Elements.

Adobe Premiere, especially the latest version that will transcode footage on the fly. No more log/capture/transcode. Just start editing right away.

Actually, if you were to have a program that is to video/footage/motion that Photoshop is to stills then Adobe After Effects would be it. I mean it literally is Photoshop for moving images. Heck it's so good I use it instead of Photoshop. That being said it isn't mean as an editing tool, and isn't efficient for that purpose if that's all you want to do.

if you don't download pirate version or can't pay $600 for those Adobe software.
