Hi I was thinking of purchasing "EVGA GeForce 210 1024 MB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 DVI/HDMI/VGA Graphics Card, 01G-P3-1312-LR" Video Card for my computer. However, my computer has a PCI-Express x16 Slot. My question is that will this EVGA nVidia GeForce GT210 1 GB which is PCI Express 2.0 work in my computer? My motherboard is BIOSTAR G31-M7 (http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=363&tab=1)

yes, you can then disable the onboard video in the bios

That's a pretty low end graphics card (see link):

I think that there are better/faster options in the $50 price range.

Thanks for your replies but I just want to clarify that PCI EXPRESS 2.0 card will work in my computer? It has PCI-Express x16 Slot which I assume runs at PCI Express 1.0.
Has anyone tried plugging in PCI EXPRESS 2.0 card in PCI EXPRESS x 16 slot?

It should work fine...it's backwards compatible. However, I have read that some PCIe 2.1 cards have had issues in 1.x boards. 2.0 should be fine.

There is a reduced bandwidth in a 1.0 slot (less so for 2.0)...so your 7850 may not be running at full capacity.

Just so you know...
PCI-E 2.0 and PCI-E x16 are not the same in the way you are thinking.
X16 refers to the number of lanes the physical slot has. X1, X4, X16
2.0 refers to the version which denotes the bandwidth capacity. 1.0, 2.0, 3.0
You can have any combination of the above two.

Well, I find the on board video picture not so good on my 22 inch Samsung Monitor. So I was looking for a cheap video card that supports DVI. I don't really play that much games, so it will mostly be for watching videos and usual internet stuff.
Down the road I would like to buy a new computer with a good video card. But for now as my budget is tight, I think this will do.

Almost anything cheap should do. I'm running on a really old Sapphire Radeon X800 via DVI on my 1920x1200 monitor. If you are running a higher rez monitor, just make sure that your new old graphics card supports it. 1680x1050? If so, it should be fine.
Hope that you are not paying too much for the GT 210....have read in forums that it's not even worth $10 used. :)

Yup, any $10-15 low(er)-end video card would do. You may want to check out those with passive cooling (no fan) as well.
You will appreciate the sharpness the DVI port brings over the VGA.
