Looking to upgrade my 4 year old Q9300/Asus P5N-e Sli with a new mobo/cpu. I want to use my PC mostly for high end gaming, so I'd like a good value/performance wise deal, not overkills.

I was thinking of buying this http://ncix.com/products/?sku=71600&promoid=1015 or http://www.ncix.ca/products/index.php?sku=71249&vpn=BX80637I53570K%26Z77X-UD3H&manufacture=Bundle%20Deals&promoid=1015

Not very tech savvy so i don't know what I would need to look for, but I am familiar with installing. Also, I am looking to grab SSDs as well as well(first time), so any suggestions is appreciated.

i5-3570K is $229 at NCIX.

One of the cheapest Z77 motherboards is the Gigabyte GA-Z77M-D3H $95 after $10 MIR at CC.

High end gaming and bang for the buck are usually not the same IMO. Current pricing on Z77 motherboards vary from $95 to $210 after MIR where applicable.

You can google for more comments on the pros and cons of each board.

I am considering upgrading my MOBO/CPU/RAM as well and I am also looking at US deals as I can hop south of the border and pick up.

Anyone know of any good deals south of the border? Looking not to spend more than $300 for the trio.

Memory Express has been offering a bundle discount deal on this board with a matching Core i5 processor for a couple of weeks now (it goes in and out of stock).

I'd keep looking around.. the PII's are now reaching their limits and it won't take long for you to feel like you need an upgrade, again. Plus AMD's stock cooler is just as good as that CM Hyper 101, so I wouldn't pay for that... It's a pretty good discount on the package, but the hardware itself is meh.

If you don't mind the $10 MIR, this is a good starting point @ $130 for the Motherboard and RAM: http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=73561&vpn=Z77M-D3H%20MVP%26PGD38G1600ELK&manufacture=Bundle%20Deals&promoid=1015

Then just add your CPU of choice, be it a Core i3 2120 for $115: http://www.hookbag.ca/product/H3C06KSV9/ or an Ivy Bridge Core i5 for $190: http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=72279&vpn=BX80637I53470&manufacture=Intel&promoid=1015

If you have a Micro Center close to your, check out the deals they have on an i5-3570k and mobo. I was in the US over the weekend and got a good deal on a 2500k and z77 mobo for $240 USD.
