Hey,
I'm in etobicoke and need an air conditioner very badly please. I'm thinking 150$ MAX is what I can afford. This is the worst time of season to be stuck in this predicament, I know. Wallmart is not ok because their online only takes CC and I have one that's maxed out. (I'm trying to pay that off, trying my best, that's a whole other story.) Also their shipping and returns are a deal breaker for me as I've not had them stand behind their stuff I've bought in the past. I checked out Canadian tire already and factory direct, they are sold out of units in my budget. I'm on a VERY low income, I've scraped up every dime for this. Please remember shipping is obviously an issue as I have no friends who live close to me, very small family & no-one has a car.

I'm hoping to find 6,000 btu if possible?

I've tried Kijiji and everything's to far away that's worth it.

ANY help would be deeply appreciated thanks!

Although I cannot help you out with the air conditioning, I used to do this while in University. Could make your place slightly cooler and comfortable in the meantime.

I don't mean to sound condensending, but Live within your means. I know people in your situation (and worse) who used fans instead amd spent time in air-conditioned shopping malls and.community centres.

pretty sure I've seen 5K btu units at home depot or what not for $99. Mayyyybe $129.

$150 is not exactly that hard a budget to buy a window ac unit.

It may just be somebody begging, but it also might be a "want to buy" ad, no?

Lay off the cigs and booze for a few weeks...Or try wrapping yourself in a wet towel, it works great

There was an $88 unit available at WalMart. Anyone know if they still have stock? It was mentioned here in the forums.

Good luck.
