Not sure what size or type yet, but would like to find something locally. Anyone know where?

Usually those need to be imported if you want a selection of sizes.

Have you tried Pacific Mall or china town ? I am sure at least one of the stoes have it

You also need a couple of mallets if you want to play the gong properly. If the gong hit needs to be carefully timed, you have to do a soft "drumroll" type action on it to warm it up, otherwise you hit it and the sound comes half a beat later.

Haven't gone to look for this, but been to both many many times. Can't really think of any store in there that would have one.

I think they're more expensive if they're bloody.
OP, try Tap Phong on Spadina. They have all sorts of weird nonsense like that. Failing that, Steve's Music near Queen/Spadina.
