Quick question:

If you purchase a vacant lot with a duplex building permit for 200,000$, how much will it cost per square feet to hire a contractor to build a duplex from scratch in the Ottawa? Lot is approx. 70x110. Anyone had experience of hiring a contractor to build a duplex? How much did it cost for the building alone?

Based on your vague question my vague answer is between $80.-$225.00 per sq ft. Is there water, hydro, ng, propane, sewere etc on the lot, my estimate does not include the rough ins listed. This price includes a basement.

There was an old house which the owner demolished,

As for the duplex, approx. min. 1000 sq each unit plus basement.
