I need to get a new battery and didn't want to go with CT or Walmart ones. And unfortunately I don't have Costco membership (I know their batteries are good!)

Still, is there any decent source in Ontario (non-Toronto) to get a good battery?

Thanks!

get your friend to buy a Costco gift card, then you can pay with it, no memebership will be required.

From qaz393.

I've always got mine through my garage mechanic. Worked well so far.

Walmart's batteries are good and well rated too. Their warranty is quite good and easy to swap for a new battery. You just bring it, they test it for free and give you another new one if you're within the replacement warranty period.
It's quite cheap there. Other than that, interstate and kirkland(costco) are another two brands that people mentioned several times.

Ive read Costco ones are good. You might have to search but the Costco ones might be from Johnson Control or whoever the OEM is and rebranded, and thats supposed to be a good brand, I used to remember more about it when I was looking for a battery too. But I bought my battery from Costco.

Costco has a good warranty too and should be a bit cheaper.

+1

costco kirkland battery is made by johnson controls

they also make batteries for a bunch of other brands.

when my car battery went kaput, i went to costco and got one. very nice price and good warranty.

+1, good idea

i've wondered, what happens if you have $100 card and you buy more than that (say $175)...will they allow you to do so or limit you to the card's value?

I just went car battery shopping the other day.. Costco carries a limited selection, they don't carry group size 51 (was for a Civic..)

Canadian Tire refunds $15 when you bring back your old battery, so take that into account.

They'll allow it, you just pay the difference in cash.

The batteries in Walmart are also made by Johnson Controls. Just look at the label and it'll tell you who made it.
I bought one for my dad's car and it's been fine.

Batteries are way pricier at CT than Costco. After Costco, I would go for the Energizer at WM.

Last summer, I bought a Kirkland for $65 at Costco. I think that the cheapest at CT was like $99 or so.

If WM doesnt carry your battery for your car doesnt mean you cant use a different one.

Just as long as you measure the Width x Depth x Length of your old battery and compared it to the one they have.

This is what i did when i couldnt find the proper one for my civic and couldnt get a higher CCA.

Thanks!

So sounds like Wal-Mart's battteries are another decent choice?

They have Everstart and Energizer brands. Which one would be better?

Also, aside from Canadian Tire, do others give discounts for giving old batteries back?
