Thanks and thanked OP! They look delicious for sure and its new. Quiet interesting. The timings are a bit off no? Meaning its during work hours, except those who go out for lunch. Would have been nice if it were 2 to 5 instead.

Yeah, I was surprised to hear that as well! They're made with green coffee extract although I suspect that the total caffeine per beverage is pretty low. They are priced about the same as a Tazo iced tea, so about $4 for the Venti.

Hmm not bad. I thought Friday was the first day they're launching this? Seems as though its not. Saw it in the Globe and Mail as well. The Hibiscus one looks tempting. Maybe I'll use my free drink voucher that I got due to being a gold member. Anyone know if I can use that voucher on these drinks? Before Friday of course.

True.

I am not implying that. I am implying the fact that it could be convenient for people who work to swing by after their work hours. Some people get off at 3pm/4pm, depending and its easier for them. Just saying. Don't hate ;) :)

You can use the voucher on ANY drink they make! You can even customize the drink as much as you want and make them add whatever you would like to it (ie. 4 extra espresso shots if you are so inclined!)

Much obliged :)
Just went and got the Very Hibiscus flavour (tall size) and its pretty refreshing indeed. Right amount of sugar too. Hopefully there's no bug extract ;)

don't think they removed the time restriction, they just didn't mention it on that page. On the starbucks.ca website still says 12 to 3pm on the main page graphic.

Good deal. This refreshed my memory of having one at the phoenix airport last summer. I had the lime one and thought it was very good. A nice change from the shaken iced tea or say passion tea lemonade. Glad to finally see them here

Less crowd, especially a Starbucks with a drive thru :P

Do you think this will be available at a Starbucks Chapters/Longo's location? I too was forced out into the burbs and have a few guests who are feeling very thirsty :)
Doesn't hurt that I'm out of the office today either.

What a waste - water with flavour and some real fruit (lime or berries) to make it seem more exciting
I would not even pay $1 for this

I prefer the Berry one actually... but not worth the 10 cents in gas (couldn't be bothered to walk over). Their free coffee promo recently was a lot better (taste/value wise). 60% ice.

For this promo, well at least my Starbucks location, they had the drinks pre made already on the front counter. So you really had no choice unless you ask them to make one again with less ice.

I was passing by one of their locations around 2pm and there was no one in the drive thru.
I ordered the berry one, and when I got to the window I told her I was on my way to pick up my wife, and she asked if I would like a second one.
I asked if I was allowed, since I thought it was one per customer, and she handed me a lime one right away.
In the end we tried both, but once there was enough room in the cups, I mixed both together, and they were even better.
Berry-Lime :)
Can't say that I would actually buy them though!

No line ups at my local. I tried both - ordered one flavour, but they made me the other, no one around, so I asked if I could have both.
Like others said, it's pretty much just a cup of ice. Neither were horrible, and yet neither were really tasty either. I guess on a hot day (like today in Vancouver) the icy coldness made it the most appealing part of the drink. I know I will not be "buying" any of these drinks in the future.

Went there at around 12:30 and the lineup was big. About 15 people in line. I got the berry and it was crap. This thing for $3.25 is a complete joke. It's ice, water, and some green tea extract crap. The $1 lemonade from Tims is better.

Jul 13th, 2012, 05:37 PM
that's unfortunate, because we're not allowed to pre-make these ones in pitchers, every one has to be made to order. our store dealt with it by filling those two 4 gallon cambros in advance with cold filtered water so we don't have to be bottle necked at the cold water tap that pours ever so slowly. I guess people's drinks might be poor quality because they are trying to get these drinks out of the way and not measuring exact...
