Hey guys, I own a 2005 Chevy Aveo. I've had the car for 7 years and I'm finally going to get something nicer. I'm 25 years old and I've had the Aveo for 7 years. I think it's time to finally move on and get something, especially since the car has been giving my mechanical problems.
My budget is 20k. I know, it's not much. Ideally I would like a sports car or coupe but I know at this price range I won't find much new. So it looks like it will be a new sedan at this budget. I would like the car to be 2012. Before you tell me to buy used, I just don't see the value. The price difference between say a 2010 Lancer and 2012 Lancer is just not enough for the risk of taking on a vehicle with some mileage on it. I'd really not like to take on the risk of having to deal with paying for maintenance or repairs. If the price of used cars was significant then of course I'd do it, but for the price to be significantly cheaper I'd have to go with an even older year and I don't want to do that. I'm getting rid of a 2005 car, I'd rather not upgrade to a 2007 or something like this.
I really liked Mitsu's warranty, and I really like the aggressive look of the Lancer. AWD would be nice too for the winters. I was also looking at the Jetta which is similar in price, but I'm really leaning towards the Lancer SE AWC. What do you guys think? Anyone here own one?
