I need a new chamios for my car and haven't purchased one for quite a few years. They have a synthetic chamois at Costco. Is this any good or should I look at something else?

Waffle weave is a good alternative to chamois.

I personally don't like the normal Chamois type cloths for drying. What I use is the synthetic drying cloths made by Simoniz available at Crappy Tire. If you really want to protect your car use a leaf blower to get rid of most of the water and pat dry with a good micro-fibre cloth.

Leaf blower is an awesome idea when I saw Bryan the detailer guy do with my car.
As for cloth:
Meguiar's Water Magnet towel at Canadian Tire and Part Source. It's a waffle weave.

I still would go to chamois, honestly I dont even know why, its just that I am used to using it but a leaf blower is a good idea too.

I've been using this thing called the "absorber" for years now but it seems to do a good job. Actually i use a water blade to get most of the water off before using the absorber synthetic cloth. It's probably the lazy way to do it but it works (i do not own a black car though)

if no leaf blower,
i would use the sheeting technique (assuming you have a good coat of wax/sealant)
and then use the absorber ( 1/2 price vs. local CT, if bought in walmart/target in USA)
i find the absorber works better than chamois

I was going to place an order this week with eShine. Which one is good on the list?

Get the Dehydrator 2.0, but I would wait for their BOGO sale. Those waffle weave towels can absorb a ridiculous amount of water; I can dry my entire car in less than 2 minutes. The thief glass towel is also great - no streaks whatsoever.

Just take it for a drive and open the car up to 200km/h. That'll dry it right off.

I tried that once and it didn't work so well, the water will absorb all the ***** in the air and when the car dry it will be dirty. Also it doesn't dry that fast at 200km/h, even at 250, 300 it take a while because not all part of the vehicule have a high flow of air.

+1 for Absorber. Bought an Absorber XL and love it.

California Water Blade.
Cuts drying work in half. Just make sure your car's paint is clean or else it will scratch as it drags rocks across.

Microfiber waffle weave towels. Either Sonus or Meguiar's.

I also like the absorber. I have 2 of the large purple, and 4 of the blue small Dehydrator waffle weave cloth from eShine, it is good. But the Absorber is soooo much better at absorbing water.
I use Detailer's Pride Microfiber Cleaner & Micro-Restore Microfiber Detergent from eShine to wash all my MF, hang dry. So I think I treat the MF properly, I am no professional though.

When do eShine usually have BOGO?
