My local Costco never has premium blenders like those offered by Vitamix and Blendtec.

Thus, I'm still on the hunt for the lowest price on a Blendtec blender that includes the newer/larger Wildside blender jar (http://www.blendtec.com/products/total_blender_classic_wildside). It's listed at $454.95 (plus shipping) on the official website, www.blendtec.com, and likely ships from the USA which means us unfortunate Canadians will be hit with extra charges.

Unfortunately, the FourSide jar on their factory reconditioned model (http://www.blendtec.com/products/total_blender_classic_series_factory_reconditioned ), while less expensive at $384.95, cannot be swapped out for the larger WildSide jar that I want, not even for the difference in cost. And there will still be the extra charges for shipping it across the border to Canada.

There are no current/recent posts on Blendtec deals on RFD. I've dug into the past with the search function and everything is very old. There are more posts on the Vitamix, but those are also a little old.

I'm really trying to avoid eBay. Currently there are no deals except on the refurbished older ICB3 commercial blenders (http://www.ebay.ca/itm/BLENDTEC-ICB3-COMMERCIAL-BLENDER-SMOOTHIE-110V-SHROUD-/350481365441?pt=Small_Kitchen_Appliances_US&hash=item519a5139c1).

I know this blender will last beyond my lifetime so the cost in the long run seems rather insignificant, but this IS a website for finding deals and bargains, so I figure I might as well put out some feelers to see if I could get this product for less.

Thanks in advance.

I got two of the ICB3's, you can't go wrong for the price. I love mine, I think I paid under 400$ taxes in for both when there was a promo on them. I flipped the second one on Kijiji and made enough profit to make the one I kept free and I think 20$ cash in the pocket for the transit to go get it.

I've been on the lookout for this as well, there really isn't any great options. The ICB3's looks like where I'm going as well.

This is genius! I figure for the lower price of these refurbished commercial ICB3s, I don't NEED the regular consumer model with the Wildside jar. Did you get yours from an eBayer in the USA? The fact that you made enough money selling the extra one to cover for the one you kept and all the extra costs/fees that went along with it... this is fantastic. I'll think about trying it.

Let us know if you do go through with the ICB3. Shame I don't live in Toronto. We could have bought a lot of 4 of them to hopefully save on shipping and extra charges, and then flip the two we don't need and keep the other two for ourselves.

This guy helps by reducing the shipping costs to Canada, he might be able to help in a way:

Thanks Sejad! I've seen that website before but didn't realize I could potentially use it in this situation.

I was on eBay last night trying to win a Vitamix CIA (Professional Series) that originated from Toronto, but unfortunately I was outbid. There are virtually NO Canadian sellers for Vitamix and Blendtec on eBay.

Meh, maybe I'll settle for a $20 interim blender I can find on Kijiji to tide me over until I get a Blendtec/Wildside combo at a price I like, and then resell that used blender for the same price. No harm, no foul.

How much did the bids go for the one you found?

I have a place in the states, I think I actually will try to get a few of those refurbs and bring them back here to supplement mine.

I've emailed them and will be asking about a mini-group buy, I'll let you know if we can swing something. I'd have to stay in the states for a few days to get them tax free, but that's not a huge deal.

Here is the Vitamix CIA I tried to win but was outbid: http://www.ebay.com/itm/190701108787?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

I'm not in Toronto, so my participation in a group buy would be useless since I won't be doing local pickup, but I greatly appreciate you thinking of me. Best of luck with this!

So I ended up buying an Oster Osterizer 10-speed blender with 1.5L jar (current model I've seen at Wal-Mart) off Kijiji for $10 and it's in mint condition. I bought it off a lady who recently acquired a Vitamix Aspire with the smaller 48oz (just under 1.5L) jar from The Shopping Channel. I should have asked to see a demo of it in action, but oh well.

Still in the market for a premium blender but I figure this super-inexpensive Osterizer will suffice as a mid-capacity blender since I already have a single serve one (450mL) which I constantly seem to overfill.
