Im surprised that on my list, Canada is one of the fattest Western countries. Even more surprising is that Micronesia is the fattest.

I have more drive, energy, stamina, agility, strength and perseverance than just about anyone I know. I admit, I'm a big guy. I'm not denying that.. but what is this all about?

I bet if we took calipers to my arms, the result of that would completely contradict this stupid online test.

Tests like these need to learn the difference between heavy and fat. I may be heavy, but that doesn't make me fat.

I have a BMI of 30. I told my friends I am big in Japan... Either way, BMI is a joke. It probably works for sedentary people with small bone size and no muscle. There are better calculations involving waist sizes and other factors that determine your percentage of body fat.

I'm at a BMI of 29 which puts me over the limit but BMI has never worked well for me having a short and stocky body type. For fun I put in my stats when I was my absolute thinnest after completing basic infantry in the army in my early twenties and I still had a BMI of 27 and I was in peak condition then.

Really, I thought the proper way was to hook up some machine to you which actually measures the fat. The height to weight ratio is a useless statistics, there are many other things you need to take into account in order to know how much fat someone has.

BMI might be a flawed measure of obesity for some individuals but I think it's still relevant when applied across entire populations. If you look at the rankings by country, overall, it's pretty much what you'd expect to see. I doubt someone would conclude that a country near the top is out of place because the national sport is bodybuilding. And I doubt that Ethiopia is near the bottom of the list because it produces a lot of long distance runners which tend to be very thin.

I'm not sure why people from Micronesia are so fat though. Perhaps it's an error and they mean Meganesia. :D

The problem with BMI is that its garbage. I know a couple dudes with much higher then 25 BMI who have under 10% body fat. Wii fit calls them obese, its hilarious. BMI is a useless way to measure healthy weight if you are even moderately muscular.

I haven't done a BF% reading since highschool and I was pretty low aughts; I used to see my scapula and ribs clearly in the mirror without flexing. Now it's completely opposite; the freshman 40 just never went away.
