Not sure why it says 90 day warranty though. log into fatwallet for some additional rebate

no taxes to NY and many other states.

Be wary of the return policy though:

Unlocked Cell Phone Return Policy

Return for refund within: 15 days (must be unopened, brand new condition)
Return for replacement within: 30 days
Restocking Fee: Yes

Products that state "This item is covered by Newegg.com's Unlocked Cell Phone Return Policy", items covered by this policy (those products for which Newegg states "This item may be returned for a refund within 15 days or replacement within 30 days only") must be returned to Newegg within 30 days of the invoice date for this policy to apply. “Return” constitutes receipt of the product by Newegg, and not the mere issuance of an RMA.

The following conditions are not acceptable for return, and will result in the merchandise being returned to you at your expense:

Any phone that is free from defects in materials or workmanship
Any phone that is damaged due to misuse, abuse or neglect
Any phone that is returned without the original packaging and all accessories

Is there a reason why you wouldn't just buy it from the Play Store in the US for $349.99?

Not sure but after shipping and taxes, it may be a $20 difference. Not everyone wants to order through a proxy server. I've bought a couple of things off newegg.com and since I figured out the US paypal way, all transactions have gone through.

Granted I don't know what the actual phone warranty is that comes with the newegg.com item (didn't read the feedbacks).

I haven't tried the Play Store steps but Bylo did mention the warranty that comes with the phone is void if used outside the US, though not sure how that can be policed if a factory reset is done prior to shipping back for repair work within the US.

90 day warranty sucks, but I love new egg US, no tax and most of the time free shipping to Niagara Falls, USA :)

Can you add a link that describes how to do this? I have used cheques with them before but they killed that this year.

Got to PayPal.com register a US account with US address. Make sure you use different email address (don't use the same as you use for Canadian PayPal) add a credit card on file with PayPal.com, has to be a different credit card from PayPal Canada but before you can add your CC to PayPal US Call your credit card company, add the second address (US address) and you are done.

get a prepaid card (I got one from BMO). best to use a prepaid credit card and keep the US address for future US purchases
call (don't use the change address within the BMO online account as changes will not take effect -- ever) to change the address on file to an American billing address (same as your intended shipping address)
open a US paypal account
add this prepaid credit card to the newly US paypal account (card will be confirmed/verified with the US address)
order what you want at newegg.com and use the paypal checkout option
this should work with any other US e-tailer who accepts paypal checkouts

as a bonus, I believe your prepaid card can be used to make direct US purchases too. the disadvantage is that 1-2% FX conversion fee for every transaction.

your way is great too, I use my regular credit card so that I still get my points and extended warranty :)

True. The BMO card does have extended warranty coverage too. Let RFDers know what credit card company you use as there are nuances among them and so might be more finicky with US transactions. If it works for you, then it will work for everyone using the same credit card issuer. ;)

I used to use BMO US Master Card, 25 dollars annual fee which gets waived when you spend 1000+ per year. Now, I have switched to Bank of America Visa with up to 3% cash-back :) and I closed my US accounts as Canadian Banks are a rip off to begin with.

Good to know. So will these be cash only transactions? Will you have some store names on the top of your head? TIA.

I might phone in and see if it's possible. Price changed now though. Cheapest I can find is 440 including shipping. Still not terrible though, considering carrier prices.

Where do you find $440 with shipping? Is this with a big box store?

Ah. I see. You should try BB too if they have it with all their BS about online PM's. :)

Make sure to use a credit card that offers another year's worth of warranty especially with the GN probably having useful life until Key Lime at the least. :)

EDIT: BB doesn't have an unlocked GN :( Just had a look.
