Recently, I have disconnected my land line with italkbb - is cheap however, they constantly calls to asking if I want to upgrade. Although, I advised them to stop but they still calls plus they don't have a well-spoken English person for help. I canceled with them.

I signed up with Rogers, I was quoted a very great price as a package deal (cable, internet, phone line) that included phone line however, I didn't get charged the quoted price. When I called customer service to questions and provided the person name, date, time and the id# of the person that quoted the price. I got no where exccept that the customer care rep. has quoted the wrong price.

A basic land line with Rogers cost $30. I'm canceling my land line with Rogers and I have till the end of this month to find another provider.

The land line is for my mom. She only need a basic land line to calls her children and vice versa. Can't get her a cell phone cuz she lives in the basement plus she has hard of hearing so she won't hear the cell phone ring.

Anyone know a cheap land line provider. I only want to pay around $10 a month.

Thanks.

Have you considered a magic jack. I use it for any calls in North America (no long distance chages). The only thing you will need is an internet connection to make it work. It does not require to be hooked up to a computer.

Get your own ATA (Linksys PAP2T or similar).

Freephoneline.ca - $50 one-time fee for ATA configuration. This will provide local outgoing and incoming calls. Long distance plans ($5 and up) can be added to the account.
