For me, Apple is the leader. The big con of nexus against apple is its low price.

What's to discuss. Its an apples to orange comparison (how's that for pun delivery).
Different class of devices. I'd better go, getting dark, fanboys will be out soon.

well if your comparing the 4 different tablets then for sure you should knock the ipad 1 out. Too old with too little memory.
I would rate the ipad 2 and the nexus 7 similarly. Just comes down to if you prefer the smaller form factor(screen) or the ios interface and eco system.
The ipad 3 would trump all but at the same time cost far more. Plus it can be a + or - for having ios.

Dude, this is RFD. Low price is the mantra. I don't see why low price is a con. It is a huge plus. For $300 taxes in, the nexus 7 is a fantastic unit. In a year or so when much better tablets come to market, you can park it without that feeling you haven't got the moneys worth out of it.

The Nexus was never positioned against the Ipad. They are different sizes to start with aimed a a different segment of person. I think the Nexus is aimed squarely at the Kindle Fire, which is only useful in the US.

Can't compare a 7 inch tablet to a 10 inch tablet

but isn't the nexus7 the reason why apple is possibly bringing out a smaller mini ipad?

Right so why are you comparing a regular ipad to a mini tablet?

I'm sure they started thinking about it after the Kindle Fire. Cheaper/small Android tablets are starting to get a foothold and Apple obviously wants to nip that in the bud. There are many ppl who can't stomach paying $500 for an iPad but a lot of them would be willing to pay ~$300 for that Apple logo.

Will a Nexus 10 be in a position to compete against the iPad 3?
Besides better looking high resolution photos, where else can we take advantage of what Retina Display has to offer? Do many websites offer high resolutions/contrasts? Just wondering since isn't this one of the additional feature iPad 3 has over its predecessor?

The improvement in text sharpness would be a much needed benefit of the Retina display. I think the resolution of the first two ipads is too low for the font Apple decided to use.

That's ironic given the mis-pluralization of iSheep.
Good one.

The iPad as a media player is horrible imo. It misses decoding capabilities that the Nexus would have in stock Android.
Also I hate iTunes so Nexus devices are my favourite. iPad's have great aesthetics and physical attributes (like a hot girl) but it has a crappy OS (like a hot girl). The Nexus is much more attractive.
Pros of iPad:
S3xy Display
Lightweight
S3xy Display
Made of Metal
Amazing GPU
Easy To Use
Pros of Nexus 7:
Durable
Decodes virtually any media (even some 4K videos!)
Flash Capabilities
Many more FREE Apps
Doesn't require 3rd party software like iTunes
Maintained YouTube App
Easy to Use (My father who never used a smartphone or computer in his life now understands how to use a Galaxy Nexus lol)
Google Now (iPad 3 has no Siri)

Wilson, you forgot to provide an analogy for the Nexus. If the iPad can be likened to a hot girl, what can be likened to a Nexus 7? An average, simple to please but experienced one?
So the iPad is for playing around while the Nexus 7 is for keeps?
