The coop course, COPD01H3 Y, is required for coop students and does not give you a credit.

1. Will the mark in this class count towards your GPA, even though you do not receive a credit in the course?
2. Should we treat this course like a proper course? Like study for tests, quizzes, exams (if there are any) and go to class regularly? Of course enough just to pass.

As long as they don't change it this year, this course is just a "PASS/FAIL" course. There is no mark associated with it and thus will not affect your GPA. To qualify for Co-op, you need to pass this course.
You'll be evaluated on resumes, cover letters, a job search assignment (might be a few other things I've missed, but throughout the course, they'll help you develop your resume and essential things that will be marked). You'll also be required to attend a set number of "social" events, networking events and classes.
Perhaps I'll meet you in a class, as a mentor.

I'm not too certain about the arts and science version, but the management/bba coop prep course is pretty much what animestan just said.

In addition, we also discussed office dress code, office politics, behaviour ect

Ah yes, thanks for mentioning that. I'm speaking from the management co-op program's POV.
It wouldn't hurt to drop by or call the co-op office as they handle the course for most, if not all co-op programs.

Oh and they take attendance. If you miss like two or more classes they will fail you

Thanks for the replies. I wan't planning on skipping the class. I was thinking if I should take this class seriously because it takes up the
space of two classes so I was wondering whether I should take 12 classes this year (including the 2 coops) so I can get the standard 5 credits/year.
