I'm thinking of subscribing, but I wanted to know how many simultaneous feeds you can watch at the sme time and does this change if the IP is unique vs different IPs for the devices?

Also is the the policy the same in Canada vs USA?

Wouldn't be bad if I could split the account with a family member.

I believe it's five devices streaming simultaneously. I've only ever used three at once (I don't have 5 netflix-ready devices) but it works fine.

Really? 5? I was googling and saw they implemented a policy that limits it to 2, but maybe that changed. When you do it with three devices, are they all from within your house on the same IP? Vs different devices on different IPs?

Well I have done it with my phone (one IP), my gf's phone (another IP), and my HTPC (a third IP) and that's fine. I'm not sure if the limit only applies to the states but it seems to work for me.

Worst case, they have a free trial so you can see if it works in your specific setup and then cancel.

I called Netflix (Canada) a couple of days ago because I was curious about this; they said that I could have two devices connected at the same time, and that they could have different IP addresses.

Were they all on the same wifi network?

Internal IP's and external IP's are very different. You can have 200 internal IP's, but as far as the Netflix server sees, you're just connecting 200 times from the same address/computer (ie 200 separate tabs) because your ISP generally only gives you one external IP. (Your router remembers which computer initiated a connection and when data comes back from a server, it forwards it right back to the IP that requested it.

Its two devices at once, and they can be anywhere. I'll use my account in Toronto viewing netflix us/uk and my family can use the other one in Ottawa viewing netflix Canada. Hasn't been a problem yet.
