Looking for a sub 400$ TV in the 32-37inch range. What are these no name brands like? I hear conflicting stuff and that some are made in the same factories as major brands and are just repackaged.

Vizio is not a no name brand, they are extremely popular in the USA. I'd buy a vizio without feeling ashamed, look at Costco, they carry them.
Seiki, I wouldn't touch, seeing as how you can find them at XS Cargo all the time (or is it factory direct?)
Emerson, used to be pretty commonplace in the low end stores like k-mart/woolco back in the day. Had a few of their tube TV's that lasted quite a long time but never known anyone to use their LCD's.

I would took the Vizio if I were you. From the 3 TV's you are interested to buy visio has the best price in combination with performance.

Knock on wood, I bought an Emerson 37" lcd around 5 years ago now, and she is still purring along. This after 3 moves at that.
