Awesome first episode, and I actually like this Crassus guy even though he is the guy that captures and kills Spartacus. I hope STARZ actually comes through on their promise to start a Caesar show after Spartacus is done.

I don't think they could hope to match HBO's Rome though. Maybe if they just focused on his military exploits, but I doubt Starz has the money for that.

I really like Crassus as the new antagonist. He is smarter than Batiatus and Glaber and doesn't have their dismissive arrogance. And we know he is going to win where they failed.

Too bad Rome only lasted 2 seasons but it was one hell of a great series.

More blood and gore than in the other episodes. Not really liking this season as much as the rest. I will stick through and see how this plays out.

I suppose that should of been this weeks episode. (SPOILERS AHEAD) I guess it would of been in bad taste to hang Agron on a cross on Good Friday?

yeah, would have been in "bad" taste. thing is they are on cable and people who watch such show shouldn't be offended by anything

Spartacus and Ceaser cut a deal and Gannicus escapes as well.
One of the greatest series comes to an end.

Earlier in this season I was hoping they'd do a spin off with Caesar & Crassus, but Caesar lost some of his "coolness" factor as the show went on.

Yah it's hard to respect him after tiberius stole his coolness.... lol. I guess he got his revenge, but all you keep asking yourself is how someone so cool and a veteran soldier would of let it happen.. shrug.

I think I'd still watch a spinoff though. Mostly because the caeser stuff could be interesting.

I still need to watch the prequel season with Gannicus. Looking forward to it after the series finishes

What did you guys think of the series finale? I thought it was done well considering the historical aspect of the account. I have to admit that after the original actor (Andy Whitfield) passed, the show sort of lost its edge, but these last few episodes were pretty entertaining. Sucks there won't be any more, not because of the gore and nudity, but I personally am fascinated with anything to do with ancient Roman history in general.

Yeah too bad the series is finished, I finally finished Gods of the arena as well. I rank the seasons Blood and sand, Gods of the arena, War of the damned and lastly Vengeance. I would definitely watch the Caesar spinoff series

Hopefully Starz goes forward with the Caesar/Crassus spin-off. They set it up pretty good in the final moments of the episode.

They've been setting that up for a while. I'd be very surprised if they don't go forward with it. They can already follow ROME :)

I have to disagree. The show was still as well done as when Andy Whitfield was there.

The series has to be one of the best that I've watched. I thought the ending was really well done, minus some CGI flaws (there was some terrible ones). Sad to see a great show end, but they did it perfectly as far as timing and not drawing out the script.

Wow this finale was amazing. Instead of just a pure on-sided victory it was actually well crafted battle with a blend of the history.

I'm also +1 in a Caesar/Crassus/Pompei spinoff. The actor playing Crassus this season did a hell of a job. Caesar as well.

The series finale was a bitter sweet feeling for me. I loved it ...it was epic! But I was very sad to see this amazing series end. But we knew the historical ending (just like we knew the ending of Titanic sinking)...and they handled Spartacus' ending pretty well.

One of the best series on TV ever. I will greatly miss it. :(

If they do make a spin-off with Caesar/Crassus/Pompei....I will be very happy as that would be an interesting story to watch. I really hope they do make it.

For a different take on Spartacus...watch the classic Spartacus movie.

The finale was good. But the season as a whole, for me wasn't as good as previous ones.

There was just something missing. Lucretia, Batiatus, Glaber, Ilythia, Ashur... were all incredible and different villains for all different reasons. Crassus was good. But Tiberius, and surprisingly Caesar too, had little to no depth to them. Tiberius was 1 dimensional. Caesar only a little better. Crassus was by far the only real interesting one of the trio. These villains had nothing on the previous bunches for me.

I think it would have been too difficult to have the character building and plot twists of the first season considering the linear line of the story in the last season. As much as I enjoyed the show, I'm happy they ended it now instead of dragging it on and producing another colour by numbers tv show.

If they have the spinoff as fully expect them to do considering there was no reason to bring in Caeser or Pompeii as they were not part of historical Spartacus the show should have a lot more freedom to bring back the intrigue of the first season.

I'm actually going to re-watch the first season in the next few weeks. I rarely if ever re-watch a tv show.
