I am struggling to decide bewteen the 2012 Infiniti G25x and the Acura TSX (4 cylinder auto)

The 2012 G25x is in the premium trim and after factoring in the $5k cahs rebate and dealer discount total price including all fees and taxes is $43,900 (finance through the dealership at 4.99%)

The 2012 Acura TSX 4-cylinder auto with Premium package has no stackable incentive but has financing at 2.5% ... total all-in price is $39,800

These are 2 different cars but for some reason I keep leaning towards the Infiniti due to AWD and I feel like it is a nicer car ... any thoughts are appreciated

$4000 more for AWD ... the question is do you really need AWD in the first place, if not, I would choose Acura TSX. Solid car. IMO.

TSX with winter rims and tires should be fine. Does either require premium fuel? The G25 has been canceled so how will potential resale be affected if you want to trade it in in 5 years or so?

AWD is a plus but IMO it's not necessary and you have to use it all year long. Can't turn it off. Does AWD ready needs during summer?
It will also consume a lot more gas, slow acceleration and make your car heavier. If gas consume and cost are not the issue for you than fine...

I'm also planning to get TSX but waiting for incoming Fall promotion cause TSX 2013 is out soon

Both vehicles require premium fuel ... I will be keeping the car for at least 10 years so resale is not really an issue

For me, I don't need AWD it's just a plus but not priority. I have been driving FWD for more than 12 years during winter with good tires is fine.

OP, before you decide. You should google for both cars to see if there are ongoing problems & issues.

I see the G25 had tranny issues (but they are related to MY2011).

The Infiniti is AWD but in every day use it's RWD. Power is shifted to the front wheels when the rear wheels begin to slip.

I see the G25 had tranny issues (but they are related to MY2011).The tranny issues are due to people driving it in sport mode and then complining that the shifts are too harsh. Infiniti released a software update for the 7 speed automatic for the G25 and G37 that smoothed out the shifts while in sport mode.

I am not paying cash I am actually financing through the dealership instead of the manufacturer because the cash rebate is worth the higher finance rate

Some dealers will offer their own financing arrangements by partnering up with local banks.

TSX is going to be replaced by their new ILX.

I drive a 2009 TSX, awesome, solid car. But will give it back when lease is up. Gonna try other cars hopefully that uses Regular gas

Just put in regular if you are leasing. It's not your car anyway.

lol

Why would anyone get a G25 in the first place is beyond me.

Looking at the specs, it appears to be a porker without the grunt of the G37 engine.

TSX = Accord with better leather / plastics

Get a G37 with the sunroof package.

OP, have you looked into the Accord, great incentives going on now and lot more cheaper than TSX.

Or even a Maxima. Nissan is giving those out.

I am not a huge fan of the Accord and I would prefer something a little smaller and more sporty

Based on the responses it looks like the TSX is the winner

U can use regular gas on TSX but it will damage the engine in long term and decrease performance...

Are u intend to buy TSX?

Personally I don't like Infinity G25x look, a bit too classy...

ILX is replacing CSX, not TSX.

Both use premium. That said both are high-output versions of engines that run on regular in other cars. But I would still use premium. Never understood why people buy nice cars to run cheap gas.

I would get the TSX. No sense paying the extra money for a G25x since
1. you don't really need AWD
2. G25x is heavier and has minimal extra power/torque
3. G25x is worse on gas
4. Other aspects are pretty comparable, maybe the G25 handles a bit better but its not a G37S we're talking about

The awd in the Infiniti is not always on. It's 100 percent rwd and only pushes power to front in case of slip/spin of rear wheels.

The Infiniti is just a nicer product if you can live with that low power engine. I doubt it's much slower than a tsk though.

For the TSX does it make sense to spend the extra $3K for the Tech package or should I stick with the Premium package?

Nope it's a waste of money, Acura tech package is dated, GPS graphic looks like 90s era, no touch screen... Downside

I would buy entry level since it has manual transmission or Premium package...

no touch screen....how is that a downside?

Touch screen way too hard to use by feel compared to buttons. Buttons/knobs/voice are WAY safer and faster.

As for whether its worth it...generally GPS in cars is a huge ripoff. :P

I just looked at Nissan's maintenance schedule for the G and that crap is insane! Oil changes every three months, brake fluid flushes once a year, air filter changes (the G has twoo of them) every 24000km. Get the TSX!
