So, can I play/run games/apps on the TV that I can play/run on the smartphone?

Or app convenience means: Netflix app, Chrome browser app and a few (thousands) more?

Sony had it at the Chin picnic during Canada Day weekend here in Toronto but staff didn't actually have it connected or setup?!

in any case, early Cnet review (http://reviews.cnet.com/digital-media-receivers/sony-nsz-gs7/4505-6739_7-35118320.html?tag=mncol;txt) doesn't paint a very positive picture of it, "The bottom line: The Sony NSZ-GS7 has sleek hardware and an innovative remote, but it's hampered by the still too-limited and frustrating Google TV software."

this isn't really a 'hot deal' anyhow. $199 is regular MSRP for Canada (http://www.cbc.ca/news/technology/story/2012/06/26/tech-google-tv-sony.html). MODs should move to computer/tech subforum...

Apparently Boxee may be unveiling some new hardware in the fall, so given that this product has been poorly reviewed so far, probably worth waiting to see what Boxee has on offer and decide from there.
