I bought a Sanyo Eneloop Family Kit-With Eneloop 1500 - $21.99 during Dell blowout sale.

Would like to ask those with experience with Eneloop.
- Can the charger charge regular NiMH batteries?
- Can the Eneloop batteries be charged by a regular charger?

Thanks.

Thanks (and thanked).

So when an Eneloop charger charges regular NiMH batteries it acts like a regular charger, and regular NiMH battery's life depends on the battery itself.

If I am crazy enough to use a regular charger to charge Eneloop battery, its life may be shorten as charging algorithm is not optimized.

OP, I am not sure that charger type makes that much difference. I bought duraloops from SDM and use a fuji charger that came with a camera I bought. Some batteries have been in use for years and I still can't tell that they are used. That said, I have used a number of chargers in the past. Some seem to not turn off completely even when the battery is fully charge. When I remove the batteries in the morning, they are quite warm. This fuji charger is the only one I have used that leaves the battery cold when the charging is complete. The camera has been recycled but the charger is a keeper, lol.
