Just a guess, but comments like this in the thread:
I'm dating a white chick. I've made the decision to avoid Asians and Somalians at this current point in my life.
didn't help things.

Absolutely, the language towards woman was rude and disrespectful.

Agreed. Some people have not grown up yet.

Some people never will. Just like it was mentioned in the thread, people act brazen behind a username. Why not punish the offender and let the thread go on? Instead of 'warnings' that lead to nowhere, make it mean something. 3 strikes and you're out kind of thing. The operators of this site doesn't want to diminish their user quota so they can sell or attract new advertisers. It isn't surprising that the majority of the time a thread is closed, it's usually due to the usual suspects.

What's ironic is that the people who make those comments don't realize that's exactly why they are and will perpetually be single.

Seems like mods just use their OT "guidelines" as an excuse to pick and choose the threads they don't like and close them.

Give the mods SOME credit ....the mods are simply closing threads because they genuinely believe, in their judgement, that the threads violate forum rules....and nothing more....IMO.
To suggest that mods simply " pick and choose " which threads they close primarily for reasons other than rule violations, is just a case of more ' conspiratorial ' nonsense IMHO.

mods over in the OT section are psychotic. certain discussions, even if performed in a respectable and professional manner will get shut down if it goes against something the mods either believe in, support, or work for.
thats politics. when was freedom ever free?

I'd completely disagree with you.
In my view, the mods have only been shutting down discussions / threads if ( in their judgement ) the discussions / threads violate forum rules...as I've seen no compelling evidence to the contrary.
I find the notion that the mods are enforcing member conduct primarily on the basis of their own personal beliefs, causes, positions they support ( instead of forum rules ) to not only be completely unfounded but I also think maligning and disparaging the mods in this way does a real disservice to the objectivity the mods try to bring to their job and it really sells them short.

Careful, someone was banned for suggesting that some unspecified OT mods might have a touch of the sociopathy. I'd be in favour of a professional moderation team, the ones who show up to do it for free (!) seem to have power issues.
