Good call.

According to beerprices.ca, historically the price for this is $47.55 as seen here:
http://www.beerprices.ca/beer/beerinfo.aspx?PackId=1360

So it is $5 off, is it good beer?

28 bottles for 36 bucks?

man we get ripped off in Alberta.

Hard to find a case of beer for under 20 bucks unless you want the budget beer.

Most Euro Pale lagers are, especially mass produced ones.

While I'm not trying to say this is a good beer by any means, if you want something to have with come chips and a burger, it will cut it.

Question - are these prices at LCBO or at the Beer Store, or are they the same at both places :)

Good deal! It is like getting 36 bottles for $42.55.

I am not buying Bud @ 30 for $40.

LOL all those brands mentioned brew at high gravity, have tons of adjuncts, or use carbonated water. dunno why anyone would spend a cent on these domestic kingpins with simulated flavours and horrible hangovers.

Support local like mill st, steam whistle, or flying monkey.

Lol. You can't go by that. BA and Ratebeer are notorious for those ratings. If it isn't dark as mud and doesn't have a 9% ABV then any beer on those idiotic websites are poorly reviewed

Try a beer for yourself rather than going by those idiots

These would be beer store prices, as liquor stores in Ontario do not sell anything larger than a 6 pack.

Too bad there's no Mill St. pub here in Montreal. I started my MBA in Ottawa and have been wanting to finish it! http://ottawa.millstreetbrewpub.ca/content/master-beer-appreciation

I can't believe you included Mill St and Steam Whistle in with Flying Monkey. That said I am a huge fan of Flying Monkey brews.

You can do much better, you're in Montreal after all!

Here's a good start.

It may not be a beer "Deal" per say, but I don't believe the LCBO regularly stocks Brew Dog, grab some Punk IPA while you can.

As you know prices in Ont include return and taxes while the price you posted does not. The total for those brands after return and tax is 32.00 and change which still is 12-14.00 dollar savings from Ontario prices on those premium brands....

Tuborg isn't as bad as it sounds in the reviews no offence but stuff like Canadian, Bud light etc are pretty painful to drink ...

Steamwhistle has a nasty aftertaste i find... mill st & flying monkey are not bad either

I think u'll need to try Tuborg before writing it off

OK, will do. Bought some. Will try it out. Problem is its hard to find. Does not seem to be carried in every store. Only a few stores in the western end of the GTA carry it.

I agree 100% those sites rate all dark beers high ... I myself do not care for them... too much after taste and very filling..... I have trieid Tuburg Gold and it is pretty good... better than Canadian, Blue, Bud etc for sure... I also like the 500 ml cans

Tried the Tuborg. Not bad. Not great, but not bad. Really just wanted the cans for the cottage as at the dock, the cans chill faster in a cooler. Considering the price for the 500ml cans is around the same price of most other 24's of 355ml cans, its a no brainer. Would buy again for boozing it up on the dock.

Tuborg. The beer of Danish kings .... mmmmmmm.....Danish.

Yeah there's nothing wrong with Tuborg for quenching your thirst. Beer Snobs can be worse than Oenophiles, that's why I always take BA or Rate Beer with a grain of salt.

A bit of a deal for those of us who like our Weizen beers, dont' get caught drinking it out of a nonic. Get the 3 pack Weihestephan beers and glass at the LCBO. Once they're gone they're gone.

Just FYI, I recently crossed the border for a few hours and bought a minikeg of Newcastle brown beer for 20 US and declared it on the way back. I paid $2.75 in taxes and duties. I'll be buying more beer on my short trips of less than a day to the US in the future as the prices are insanely cheap there.

FWIW, whenever it's been under a case and I declare it, but specify it's items I am unable to obtain in Ontario due to unavailability CBSA has been rather cool with making me pay duties.

I tend to buy only German beer at the LCBO. A lot (if not all) of German beer is brewed according to their own stringent Beer Purity Laws going back 400+ years. Having laws about beer....now THAT is a place you can call home...

Don't forget the gas. I'm in Ottawa too, and it would be $10-$15 in gas just to make the round trip. Not that anyone would find out, but is it not illegal to bring it back into Ontario as well?

It would be more expensive due to the 'convenience', this would not stimulate competition since the province would surely not allow that. So the ONLY advantage would be not having to go to the Beer store or LCBO to buy beer.

no I didn't. lol

I provided the link to show even in worst case scenario (paying all taxes & duties), it seems (in most cases) it would be still cheaper to bring it back into Ontario when traveling to US.
