From NCIX Forum,
You can just drive past the office and get an RMA as long as we've setup an RMA number for you and they know you're coming by
Mail in Rebate.
I could not get it working for days. I tried it on IE9 and Chrome. Finally got it working with Firefox. They have a really bad software. It is a terrible system.

They say it is one per person/household, but if I bought one back in June (during their last sale and previous rebate offer), will I qualify for the rebate during this new promotion period/new rebate offer?
thunderca
Jul 19th, 2012, 09:38 PM
Yes, you can buy again for this sale. Rebate is up to 3 per household. I might be wrong so double check with the rebate form.
Yea it said

Basically anywhere that takes a regular AMEX credit card will take this prepaid gift card. I've been using these rebate gift cards for a while and had no problems using them.

$100 GC is better because of the free $10 in points... I know, buying a GC just to ship an $8 memory drive? Well, it's saving you an extra $10 in the long run when you have $110 in GC's (so gets you the memory drive for free basically!)

These Amex gift cards are great. They behave just like any other CC so they are good for buying from shady sites where you don't want to put your actual credit card info at risk. Also a lot of deals or promos come at a very low promo price but then have a monthly subscription afterwards. Use one of these cards with a low balance to get in on the deal and you don't have to worry about cancelling in future months since the card has a set balance, unlike your credit card which can be charged continuously.

Bought one at NCIX First Markham Place location. After the $2 "coupon" it came to $20.33 after tax. The MIR is for $10 but you can "opt" for
"No Wait Service" which is a $1 discount (you end up with $9 rebate. It says the rebate will be sent if 5 - 8 days instead of 8-10 weeks. For $1, seems to be a good deal to me.
After tax and after MIR, it costs $11.33. Great deal IMO.

If you received only the payment processed e-mail and that the order is received at the store, and the store has stock, oftentimes they will process it right away and let you pick up even though you have not received the order ready for pick up e-mail.

Really depends on the store staff. I ordered an ssd on a Thursday afternoon for ispu. They processed my payment right away. I went to the store on Saturday even though I didn't receive the pick-up notice. When I got there Saturday afternoon, they still hadn't processed it and suggested I purchase the ssd as if I did not pre-order. It's not as if they were busy when I was there were about 5 employees and 2 customers, including me!

From the prev thread when Ncix ran the deal,
There seems to be such a huge spread in speeds with this "blue" light USB drive. From reports, people are getting as low as 9MB up to 18Mb write speeds and between 16-30Mb read speeds. So it's literally like a "speed" lottery or crapshoot. But for $10-12 after rebate/taxes/stamps, you really can't complain I guess.

Can someone emphasize what does it mean when it says 'Only one (1) rebate application per envelope'?
I bought two at the store today so do I glue two of the UPC barcodes on the sheet and attached two invoices? I already clicked rebate '2' and it says I am claiming $20 AMEX card. I want to make sure since every manufacturer have they own say of denial
Since you can buy up to 3 units per rebate application I would assume you can include both your UPC codes and invoice(s) in the same package and send them in one envelope.

Yes, that's where most if not all my OCZ rebates had been going to. In the end you only get less than $9 back because of postage, unless you are sending in more than one unit in your rebate application.

Well, it says "Only one (1) rebate application per envelope". I would think that it means you can have multiple products on the application, since that's what the offer is for. I even went in to check it myself. I was able to get to the final stage before submitting and during the process I can set the maximum of 3 units on the rebate application.
Although not entirely impossible, it would be very odd if they make you split up two UPC codes of the same product to mail in for the same offer, and that you are claiming one rebate card of $20 or $30 for multiple units rather than 2 or 3 cards of $10, making it more likely that you can submit more than one UPC code in one envelope. Of course, always make copies of your claims just in case if anything goes wrong.

It should not affect the MIR at all. Make sure you send them the original UPC for the MIR. I've never RMA'ed a flash drive before. Usually they want the serial number. If you're lucky they will give you a new one on the spot.

Good deal as long as you don't mind MIR and have extreme patience. I still have not received a couple rebates I send in April ....
these days I find everyone's rebate takes at least 3-4 months some even 6 months. Before 2007 it was 8-10 weeks.
damn i thought the blue light version is slow, but after couple benchmark and files copy, i said it pretty decent speed, test on a USB 3.0
http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/9782/rally2bm.jpg
I think the problem is your usb chipset performance, whether or not the unit you got is running in USB 3.0 mode or USB 2.0 mode, and the read & write policy your OS is using for removeable storage. If you check in device manager and go into drive properties the policy page lets you chose "quick removeal" or "performance". Performance uses cacheing because OSes operate almost exclusively in random read & write mode but flash chips perform best in sequential read & write mode. Setting drives to performance caches random data to be written to the drive in larger sequential blocks. Many flash drives show a different colour depending on the performance mode in use. The old Verbatim Store 'n' Go Pro 1GB would have a red light in USB 1.1 mode and a blue light in USB 2.0 mode.
Not all the blue light sticks are slow. The one I got from the last sale performs about the same as yours. I guess it depends on your luck.
Again same answer as my previous reply.

I bet it's the same model just the colour is different depending on the USB 2.0/3.0 mode it's operating in.
Can someone emphasize what does it mean when it says 'Only one (1) rebate application per envelope'?

The rebate form, you can only put 1 form in a single envelope but I guess you can claim up to 3 rebates on a single form in that 1 envelope if you bought up to 3 drives.

Maybe you needed to use the IE Compatibility View button? It loads pages using older IE version codes like IE6. Just like the OS compatibility mode when you look at a program's property tabs (windows 2000 - Windows 7).

Never tried the no wait service myself but I am pretty sure you still need to submit both the rebate claim form and the UPC code, and the copy of your receipt. Otherwise they wouldn't be able to tell whether you actually bought the drive or not I would assume.
The no wait probably just meant that they will process your rebate gift card quicker instead of waiting 8-10 weeks for the regular service. Regardless you probably still need to mail everything in and once it's been approved by them they will process your rebate gift card right away.
At least that's my understanding. Anyone correct me if I am wrong.

Ordered online Thursday and picked up today in Coquitlam, BC. Had trouble registering on the rebate website using Chrome and IE on XP on a company network. Would get the timeout error or 'can't find number' error. Worked no problem on Safari at home. Picked up the drive (blue light) and have now sent in the rebate form.
Looks like they specifically want you to print their form and cut out THEIR address as they mention it twice on that one page. So I did just that, pasted the UPC in place with double sided tape and will now wait x amount of months for the rebate. Another note is that the metal connector is slightly loose. All in all, good deal.

I just rec'd an OCZ mir/Amex card from an earlier 8gb OCZ usb drive I bought. From mailing the rebate to receiving the Amex card, 7-8 weeks.

technically the drives costs (17.99*1.13+1.05(postage))-10 = 11.38. Just saying =)

I paid (17.99*1.13+1.19(postage))-10 = 11.52. Postage is HST applicable.

so you're saying I can bring my usb flash drive along with my receipt (without the UPC code) and they will take care of the rest? :D
Register online for RMA. Bring USB Drive in to Markham Office with RMA Number once you receive it via email and they will replace the Drive while you wait, if they have stock. RMA'd Rally 2 16 GB drive yesterday this way so I know it works.

Ok, finally submited it, I had to use FireFox not IE...
On another note I get 32.5MB/s read and 23.5 MB/s Write which is pretty good IMHO.

Finally got mine today (stupid UPS..)
While a good deal, I have to ask myself why I put up with the torture of MIR.
Ahh well, not bad for 11.83 if I get the rebate (which is really only 8.50 if you consider US stamp and gas to the post office if you don't have one :p)

should not be "expired" the rebate runs until the 7th. And it's on sale @ NCIX again. OCZ rebate (http://www.mirhelp.com/ocz/ocz-rebates-aug-1st-to-7th-2012)
on a side note, the picture is quite deceiving... it shows an usb drive with the "orange" colour but they actually give you the blue one.
