Is this some sort of scam or is Embridge really giving them out for free?

It is a scam. One of those people came to our door and tried to give free stuff to us provided that we sign up for something. I saw their forms and it had an @gmail.com address.

Clearly it was a scam. I took the things and threw it back the way she came.

It is not a scam. At least the free energy savings kit. Enbridge has been giving them out for a couple years now. I received mine the the mail. However, I was never encouraged to go to a web site to say when I installed the items for a chance to win a GC. I wouldn't bother with it.
