Is it a good idea for me to switch from Rogers to Teksavvy? Currently I'm at 28/1 Mbps and 95GB, but the bandwidth is too low for videos, downloading, etc. I'm also paying a whopping 70 bucks for this service and the charge rate for over usage is $1.5. I have had barely any problems with Rogers' connection, but I am still dissatisfied with their prices/bandwidth. I was wondering if it would be better for me to switch to Teksavvy since they have better rates and they have also upgraded their servers in the past couple of months. I live near the South Riverdale and Leslieville area so if anyone lives there and uses Teksavvy, it would be nice to hear your thoughts on this company. Also, I'm thinking of getting a used SB6121 from the USA but I'm not sure if it will work. My ideal plan would be 28/1Mbps 300GB since by the time August comes by I would have to go to school and I would not need to use the internet too often. Thanks!

I love Teksavvy. They don't cap my bandwidth, their speeds are really fast and they even offer unlimited bandwidth plans. The only issue with Teksavvy is that whenever I call, I'm put on hold for like 30 minutes before I can talk to a customer support rep.

It's not a 'good' idea ..... It's a PERFECT idea !
I don't see why you don't switch earlier .... With the overage penalty of $70 a month, your payback period of switching is gonna to be really short.

Teksavvy's good for me, I've never needed to contact customer support despite people saying the wait times are scary!
If I'm correct they used to have good customer support.. I guess with all the new people they can't handle It all!

Have you tried talking to Rogers about it? Usually if you say you want to cancel and give a reasonable reason why, they can cut you some pretty good deals.

But then you'll have to sign on a contract.. No one likes contracts..

I switched from Rogers to Teksavvy a couple of years ago for the same reason (consistently paying $50/month for the bandwidth overage, on top of the monthly fee).
If Teksavvy is available in your neighbourhood, I would make the switch.
Rogers will not give you 300GB of bandwidth only any plan, the last time I checked. They'll give you the option of switching to a higher tiered plan for 20-30% off, but you'll likely still go over your bandwidth limit and pay the overage fee.

Back when I needed tech support 2 years ago they had excellent service. It was actually very prompt and someone even called after the tech came by to follow up and confirm everything was working. Haven't had to call in since.

Yeah I guess that was when they weren't really mainstream on RFD.. Now the spots are filling up like crazy that they can't provide that type of service anymore.. Regardless their service Is good for the most part to have people call In for technical problems.

Yup used to be I could call and someone would pick up right away and problems got solved right away. Now it's a little slower but the waiting just sucks ><. But they are very reliable and fast. :D

You can't ask for everything out of one company!
Hopefully Teksavvy managers read RFD so then they'll get more employees working In customer support!
