Hi everyone, I am trying to start up an agency company. So I need several lines...

Line A - 1.416.xxx.xxx -- my Toronto cell phone, which i carry it with me all the time
Line B - 1.416.xxx.xxx -- my Toronto fax number, will email me the fax content
Line C - 1.800.xxx.xxxx ext 001 and ext 002 -- hotline which will be posted on my website, ext 001 asking for quote, ext 002 technician dptmt
Line D - 1.778.xxx.xxxx -- my Vancouver number
Line E - 1.727.xxx.xxxx -- my US landline

I know that I can set all other lines forward any calls to my Line A, and my Line A can show clients' phone number, but
Can my Line A shows the calls is forwarded from which lines? So that I can response in a right way.

Ideally, I want to know the calller's number and where it comes from, my Line A, B, C, D or E. Or is there any other way that can do the same job?

Thank you for your help.

I was thinking of something similar with Asterisk.

Example:
(NOTE: Lines A-E have been swapped with Lines 1-5)

Incoming call to Line 4 from 555-555-1212:
CID to Line 1 would read: 4-555-555-1212

Otherwise you could just call forward the call to send the dialed number instead of the CID of the originating caller.

I have no idea how you would accomplish this without a PBX though.

Yes, you can prefix the Caller ID with A, B, C, D, or E (or anything else relevant).

AcroVoice would likely be able to do this for you. If you're familiar with VoIP and want to do-it-yourself, VoIP.ms will also do the job.
