View Full Version : Rogers lied to me, need help!

Before, during, and after an upgrade to a new LTE phone I confirmed that I could use LTE. All three times I was told yes, twice by Rogers, and once by Futureshop.
After testing my phone I noticed that the speeds were not LTE, and upon calling technical support to find out why. I'm told that now I must switch plans, and pay more to have LTE, and that the information given to me from Rogers was just "advice" and that the contract is what I should have checked.
My problem with this is that I trusted Rogers and was given incorrect information twice and once by Futureshop and now Rogers has basically told me tough luck. I have been with Rogers since the early 90s and have 3 lines currently.
I feel betrayed and lied to.
I'm asking for help on this issue, because now even if I try to return this phone I had order accessories from China which I cannot return. And in the end, I end up losing because Rogers lied to me.
UPDATE: I skimmed through the contract that I signed at Futureshop, there's no mention that I need a LTE enabled plan to use LTE.

Did you talk to Rogers over the phone or in person?

Over the phone went all the way to the manager, he basically said tough luck, and that I could either get the 60$ plan with 5$ off which is more than I pay now without VM and CID. Or maybe wait 2 months till the new iphone which will have LTE launches and they should have a new $30 6gb plan with lte in it. And I just emailed the office of the president.
If I'm still in the buyers remorse period ill take it back but then I ordered stuff I cant even use. Really not sure what to do now, I'm kinda shocked that they did this too me.
Thanks for the reply by the way, really appreciate it

Yeh that's what their telling me to switch too, but it doesn't have Caller ID and Voice mail and its more than what I pay now. I just want them to give me LTE access that they told me I would have when I checked with them before the upgrade.
Thanks though

Excuse me. LTE phone requires LTE plan is just like HDTV but you didn't subscribe to HD service. Or you driving a Ferrari but you say you didn't know it uses premium gas. That's call comon sense not betray.

A lot of people tether their phones to tablets/computers. Also, 3g is fast, but LTE is significantly faster. People need their content and they need it NAOW.

False. Robbers is the only carrier to have this requirement.

When I spoke to rogers in person and on the phone I was told all I needed was an LTE phone and LTE simcard.
