After watching Marketplace and reading tons of negative reviews about big fitness clubs my girlfriend still wants to join one (proximity is great since she has no vehicle).
From some light googlin' I can say that there seem to be 3 types of memberships: student, corporate, regular. That is about it though since GL doesn't seem to like publishing their rates online so I am curious what people are paying and also where they are located.
Thanks

I pay $25 biweekly for the multi-club membership (corporate rate). Regular is $28 biweekly. Towel service is an additional $5.

My friend pays the same in Toronto.

i understand the usual corporate rate is $400 a year. some individuals not so lucky pay $800. i would advise to be sure to get access to all clubs. it's really nice when your out-of-town to have a place to lift.

$33.05/month including taxes, regular, multiple gyms except downtown, no towel service. But i've been a member since 2004 when the rates were more competitive. The only way to get rates like this is corporate or you know someone that works at Goodlife. They occassionaly get vouchers for $200/year memberships and 1 free gym membership. Not to mention employee discount for your significant other (though don't know if it applies to family).
