We had several Leviathan threads before the great Off Topic Purge of 2012 - unfortunately they have all slid into the netherworld of the archives.

LEVIATHAN TEST RUN - Canada's Wonderland March 15, 2012. (http://forums.redflagdeals.com/leviathan-test-run-canadas-wonderland-march-15-2012-a-1155021/)
Canada’s Wonderland’s new roller coaster, Leviathan, tallest, fastest in Canada (http://forums.redflagdeals.com/canadaa-s-wonderlanda-s-new-roller-coaster-leviathan-tallest-fastest-canada-1170263/)
Canada’s Wonderland Unleashes Leviathan in 2012 (http://forums.redflagdeals.com/canadaa-s-wonderland-unleashes-leviathan-2012-a-1071653/)

There are many great coasters at Canada's Wonderland, including three classic wooden coasters and an assortment of steel ones - however there are only two hypercoasters (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypercoaster) - the new Leviathan and the four year old Behemoth, both made by the same Swiss company, Bolliger & Mabillard.

Here is my original review of the Leviathan (http://forums.redflagdeals.com/canadaa-s-wonderland-unleashes-leviathan-2012-a-1071653/5/#post14698647) from the last of the closed threads above:

Opening day at Wonderland today and I had my first (two) rides on the Leviathan.

My review: Disappointing! :(

Although there is a visual thrill looking down the first hill, and some reasonable negative-G's on the first small rise and after cresting the second large hill - it just doesn't compare with the overall experience of it's slightly smaller cousin the Behemoth.

In this particular case, bigger is definitely not better.

I think the lower ride quality is related to the track layout, which requires a lot more curves. It never seems to give this coaster a chance to really hurtle along flat out like the main back run of the Behemoth.

Don't get me wrong - I'm happy Canada has another big roller coaster, especially one from an excellent manufacturer like Bolliger & Mabillard - I love their ultra smooth ride and fantastic rider securing system with just the lap-pod and no cumbersome shoulder crushers. I just wish Wonderland had gone a different direction with one of the huge hydraulic launch coasters like Top Thrill Dragster (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top_Thrill_Dragster) across the lake.

The best news: the Leviathan will siphon off the crowds and make the line-up for the Behemoth short and sweet this summer!

I have now been on the Leviathan many more times thanks to the magic of a Season's Pass and sadly my verdict still stands, and is shared by the coaster fans I ride with.

The slightly smaller Behemoth is easily the better ride, imho, and I was wondering if this opinion is shared by others?

So here is the official RFD poll to help to find an answer to that question:

Which is Wonderland's Best Hypercoaster: Leviathan or Behemoth?

Leviathan is better than the Behemoth. Steeper drop and faster. But both of them are great, and there's a huge gap between them and the next best ride in the park

Wild Beast and Minebuster may be classic, but they aren't great in any sense of the word. Both coasters need some serious TLC to be called great. Hopefully Wonderland is taking a look at the parks in the US retracking and reprofiling their wooden coasters with steel tracks.
In fact, I wouldn't call many of the park's coasters great. With the exception of Vortex, the others are just "meh" or "please tear it down already."

That said, Behemoth and Leviathan were built for two different things. Behemoth for airtime and Leviathan for speed. It's not entirely fair to compare the two just because they're both hyper coasters (technically, Leviathan is a giga coaster, but whatever).

A launched coaster would be great at Wonderland (a real launched coaster, not the half-assed-never-fully-completed Backlot Stunt Coaster), and it's a shame that the park sold all their land across Major Mackenzie. Imagine flying over (or under) the road and into the coaster's layout. That would have been pretty awesome. Not to mention; that was prime space for an onsite hotel/resort to keep tourists closer to the park and spending more money in the park.

It'll be interesting to see what they build next in terms of roller coasters; my money is on a flying or wing rider roller coaster named Ziz to complete the biblical beast trio (also, I'm kind of surprised no anti-biblical nutjob has complained that the park has named their last two rides after biblical monsters). Although, I don't see a coaster coming too soon. With the new CEO of Cedar Fair now in place, I'd expect to see some upgrades to the kiddie areas and water park first.

If Leviathan is more for speed (and a scarier drop) and the Behemoth is more for air-time, I think I'd prefer the Leviathan although I haven't been back yet to experience it.

Behemoth was too scary for me to handle being at the front of; I felt a little sick afterwards and have no intentions of being back on it.

LOL wait till you sit at the front of the Leviathan. Initial drop feels like facing down on the drop zone

Last I checked, the Behemoth is as tall as the Drop Zone, so...technically I already looked "down" it and the Leviathan... I can't even imagine...

I love the sensation of speed but dislike scary drops. :-0

I dunno, the last two seasons i went we went on the behemoth a few times. It is fast, and high for sure but not as amazing as we expected.
No idea about leviathan though.
