Hyundai Accent VS Hyundai Elentra, what to buy?
Accent - less than $2k and consume less gas
Elentra - Consume more gas but cost $2 than accent
- The leg room is more big and comfortable.
Guys need your opinion? What do you think my cousin should buy any comments and opinions?

I don't know, has he/she test driven them?
Worse case scenario, there is always the Beige Toyota Corolla as a fall-back option.

What is the car going to be used for? If you're hauling more than two people then obviously the Elantra. If you don't need the extra room then it comes down to if you need the higher end features you can get with the Elantra.
And yes, like coriolis says, driving feel is a big factor. If you can't get a comfortable driving position in a car or you hate how it handles, obviously it's out of the question.

Before y'all get too excited, factor in the insurance rates as well. It would seem that the drivers of lower cost vehicles have more "incidences" and therefore the cars cost more to insure.

Having a quick glance through those ratings, the Elantra 4D and Accent 4D have nearly identical ratings. Actually, the Yaris/Corolla/Civic/Fit all have more or less the same ratings. I'd say the driver history would matter more here, unless you're moving up into a full-sized car or an SUV.

Guys need your opinion? What do you think my cousin should buy any comments and opinions? Buy the Accent, because it's $2000 cheaper...lots of savings right there. Your cousin is only 4'8" tall and has no kids, so the extra room in the Elantra won't matter. Plus the vehicle will get driven about 30,000 km per year, so the savings in gas will really add up -- especially because most of the driving will be in the city. *
* - my answer assumes a few things, because you provided NO details in your post for anyone to be able to offer a useful response.

Might be good to list more details:
- Majority of driving? Hwy or City
- number of people in car usually?
- how long do you expect to own
Take your time. Be sure a new car is the right choice.
And becareful u don't limit yourself to just Hyundai.

Get the Elantra.
Larger interior and more comfortable on the highway.

I had a 2012 Accent hatch for almost 3 weeks as a rental. Great car with decent power and more interior room than expected plus it was good on gas. My biggest issue with it was the poor visibility out the back because of the small window on the hatchback. Other than that it's a great car I would recommend to anyone.

I would get the Elantra, it is starting to become mainstream, and will carry better resale value later on in its years. I feel like the Elantra has better value for money as well, yes you can save yourself $2000, but you may find that it could be worth it in the long run.

He should be getting a Tucson instead.

There is a large price difference of Tucson and Elentra, so he cannot afford the Tucson and from what I have heard if consumes a lot of gas.
