windows 7 student discount? better?

i've been using windows xp and i need to upgrade....

i missed the 39.95 student discount MS had a while ago.... what are my options?

is there a way to buy the (non upgradE) version with the student discount? windows 8 does not look good at alll. but should i wait and get that instead? i have an older, but good pc. (3ghz, single core)


the only option they have now is the $99 upgrade, which is ridiculous..

any suggestions?

check through your school. microsoft products are usually offered for free, or heavy discount - at all times, provided you meet some sort of criteria.

Don't worry WIndows 8 is the same as win 7, you dont have to be on the new start menu, once you are on the desktop you will love windows 8.
