I sold 5 out of 50 listed items on ebay. Most of these are one of a kind items or not so common items. But most of them go unlisted, sometimes I wonder if I listed for too much.
What do you guys do in these cases? I tried buy-it-now, offer a price, etc. options.
Thanks

I prefer calculated shipping and just setting a good price. If it isn't a deal and it isn't popular your listing will fail.
I had to reduce the price of the ram I was selling from $25 to $8. I could care less because in my situation I was just trying to liquidate unneeded junk.

The hard part about listing stuff is the price may be a good deal but the shipping kills it. I've sold items for a dollar and they spent $20 to ship. I've looked at video games which cost $3 to buy and they will charge $15 to ship meaning its cheaper to buy on kijiji or ebgames.
When listing stuff on ebay, it has to be in some demand or people won't pay the cost. Try Kijiji and craigslist where you may get more money because the shipping is eliminated.

Offer free local pick up.

but doesn't free local pickup only marginally increase your buyer market? I rarely get buyers from the GTA.

I sell unique stuff on ebay (vintage clothing) my approach differs based upon the item.
Firstly, I try different approaches for different items. For example an item with alot of demand like 50s selvedge levi's will sell for $250+ regardless if I start it at $.01 or $100 so i start them low to get bidders interested. Often times they'll bid on multiple items and lose the first auction that brought them to me in the first place! This can help bring you business.
Other items need to sit for a while. For example, I'm currently holding onto a shirt from mick jagger's birthday in 1978. That is a great item but needs a very specific buyer (stones fan, medium size).
Keep shipping as reasonable as possible to compete with other American sellers. Get a venture one card and ship using poly mailers (buy them on ebay).

For the longest time Canada Post would send 'Ebay' branded mailers for free. Do they still do this?
