Cold. For $60 there should be no minutes restriction. This is 2012.

I think the point is that with the infrastructure available today, minutes cost the carriers very little. Same goes for SMS, for different reasons. So charging people extra for it doesn't really map to anything real, it just punishes people who want or need to talk more.
In a few years, we can expect everyone to use VOIP apps like skype and google voice, so all that will be required is reliable fast wireless Internet. If people stop making excuses on the carrier's behalf for outdated Byzantine systems, everything can simplify, and become less expensive since plans will be very simple. Then, as a society we can tackle the issues of technological unemployment (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technological_unemployment), but that's another matter. :)

I'm really confused why this was posted, isn't there another thread about this exact same plan?

^ To my understanding, that one was a call-in non-advertised offer whereas this one is available by walk-in to any Costco

I walked past a wireless wave yesterday and they were advertising that plan, most likely for a little while now. Pretty sure bestbuy mobile has something about it too.

I was looking at this yesterday. The phone was $159 less a $75 cash card so $84 net. A nice extra at Costco is their extended warranty plan. It's $50 to protect the phone to 3 yrs. if you don't use it, you get a $50 cash card. A no brainer to me.
On a side note, you can't get an iPhone at Costco. The agent told me that the wireless company was negotiating to allow them to be sold at the booth. Apparently, they're turning a lot of customers away.

Only $50 at Costco wireless wave for the extended warranty? The Wireless wave in my local mall's price is like $130!

There is so much 'unlimited' with Rogers... Except, you know, all the stuff that's limited... or just excluded.

I think you're mistaken, the Rogers 6GB "Super Plan" is being advertised publicly

That's a great deal. $84 for the GS3 + $50 for a refundable 3 year warranty, on a contract for a $60/month 6GB plan

Thanks, I called and they told me the same thing for this phone. Seems like the best deal right now for a new activation Samsung Galaxy S III?
I wonder if this is the best deal, or even better from Rogers retention? I wonder if the data can be shared with my current line.

hahaha, right.
I assume it is unlimited with what you can do with it, like streaming, VOIP, etc.... not the amount of data. In any case, it is still a bit too high a price for me. I think I will stick with my $10 Speakout limited "unlimited" browsing package.

I checked that 6gb super plan at our local costco and she told me unless I am switching providers as I am already a Rogers customer I don't get the $150GC towards a new phone.

gotta love those haters, dont get me wrong I hate robbers just as much as everyone else but other than the big 3 the small guys dont reach where I live. Try going north of hwy 7 and your reception drops to 0 whats the point in paying 20$ when you cant even use the service. Im riding my retention plan for another 3 years in hopes the small guys will be able to get up to my area so I can ditch them. But this plan is alright its nothing special your still looking at 70 with CID and VM added which are essential services... hope is a few years away? :(

I live close to Wonderland and I get reception fine. Only data speeds kind of suck up here, usually get less than 1mb. But around Bayview and Eglinton I get 4mb+.

Anyone know if Costco Wireless etc. carries Telus? Koodos? Fido? besides Rogers? $50 refundable warranty for 3 years sounds like a good deal. Anybody have it and would recommend it? Any terms and conditions?

Locally (SK) they have Rogers, Bell, Virgin and Sasktel. Not sure if they have any other providers.

$30 is for the add-on which has to go along with a voice plan

Thanks for the clarification. So pure data plan goes for $41 or more (based on Wwedx's $40 budget)?

We purchased the warranty through Costco Wireless Wave in December 2008. My husband did use the warranty but I did not. When my three years were up in December 2011 I went back to the kiosk and received a $50 Costco cash card since I had not used my warranty. It was extremely simple and exactly as they had advertised.

What is the $150 promo? I don't see it on the Rogers website. Is it only at the Costco kiosks?

Kelly, thanks for your respond. Did your husband had any trouble with claiming the warranty? Was the phone repaired or he got a replacement?

On my unlimited data plan with MTS, I average about 4.5GB a month, but I have in some months pushed 8-10GB with streaming radio/video and tethering. It's possible.
