Hello,

I was recently in Costco browsing the TVs and saw a 47" LG LM5850 on for $689 (from $1089) being sold as is. It came with no box, no blu-ray player, no 3D glasses, no remote. Just the TV and power cable. They claimed it was demo'ed for <200 hours of use.

I picked it up but need to decide whether to keep it. The remote is no problem as I have a Harmony and have it programmed already. The blu-ray is also no biggie since I don't watch discs, usually downloaded/Netflix movies.

I can't seem to find ANY specs or ratings on this model so have no idea if it's a good one. I felt like $400 off was pretty sweet. It's 3D edge-lit LED.

Thoughts? Would you keep it?

Thanks!

I would not buy a demo TV ... considering they're on for 12+ hours each day. But to each their own - you might be satisfied with it, but I don't like the fact hundreds if not thousands of people have fiddled with it.

Gotta agree. Unless your sole purpose is to demo it more and return it on the 89th day.

I've been using it at home with no issues; if the demoing had caused any damage, wouldn't it be apparent? What should I look for?

Thanks for weighing in :)

I just bought a LG 47” led 3D LM5850 tv and I connect it to a Rogers Cisco HDTV box.
I try everything but the image is not crystal clear as they say.
Anyone who can tell me what is the right way it should be connect.
The Rogers box does not have HDMI slot.
Thanks

well as long as you got their concierge service it should be ok since you already purchased it. Otherwise i would check around and see how much they are going for onsale and read reviews. I don't understand even as a demo why they are missing so much stuff - was the blueray a special offer ?
the price seems high for a demo even for a 47 inch if your not using any of the special functions that come with it.

I'm probably a little late on this topic, but in most cases you're gonna be good when going through Costco.

What I'd do is run a quick pixel check, sound check, slap on the $60-5year warranty and forget about it.

i agree with the second part and for 60 bucks for 3 years it is worth it especially on a demo.
