Hi,
I am finishing my basement. I have a problem.
Builder installed 2" foam around basement interior walls and used 1x4 stud to nail down drywall.
So there is very shallow space between drywall and foam. (There is no electric outlet now.)
To install electric outlet, I look for low profile electric junction box but could not find one.
I can cut and dig foam to fit regular electric junction box but I am worry about the box would touch or near touch concrete wall which will be potential issue and it would break building code.
Do you know where I can buy such low profile junction box or any idea with regular junction box? I am in Montreal.

How low of a profile are you looking for? An electrical outlet itself is about 1" + wires + marrettes, your box has to be at least 1.5" deep:

It might be better to install a thin 4x4 box to provide you with more space to work in - especially for the wires and connectors. Then cover it up with a mud ring:

If all else fails you can surface mount.

So the depth is 1/2" plus 3/4" for total of 1-1/4"? The closet box is 1-1/2" so you only need to dig out 1/4" of foam. Foam is still 1-3/4" thick so theres no risk of condensation forming
