Just wanted to let those who have yet to hear about Google Fiber.

Right now, it is being piloted in Kansas City. The approach of Google is very different than the incumbent Telecom giants. They plan to use sign-ups and pre-orders as a way to build demand and focus on the areas that want it the most. Whereas the general practice today is to cover as much area then canvas for sales.
Also, I find the pricing model quite appealing. I feel like Google wants to take away the idea of paying for distribution and go towards a content/media centric model.
I hope they have plans for Canada and/or Canadian Telecom sees this as a good example of moving towards the future. I would love to hear thoughts/comments from the RFD community on this.
