I am looking to switch to voip.ms for my home phone and need an ATA. The current cisco lineup (SPA112/122) is buggy so am looking elsewhere.
Two options I have come across are
OBi100 - $70 +tax shipped
Linksys SPA3102 - $56 + Tax shipped.
I don't need to interface with the POTS line but 3102 being cheaper is attractive. Is Obi100 significantly better in terms of features/voice quality for me to pay the $14 premium?

I have an Obi100... nice little box. Allows you to select from two providers (I have voip.ms and google voice) on the fly. Setting up the Obi is easy as pie, but once you get into tweaking hard core details.. the obi is a pain in that most providers give you lots of examples on how to setup Linksys ATA but with the obi you have to guess or google alot to find examples. Obi may have more features, but I believe the quality is pretty much the same among these ATA's. I've experienced echo with obi/voip.ms -- not sure who's fault it is because if I fail back to my primus setup I don't have the same problems.

Primus is who I am trying to get rid of. How prevalent is the echo?

BTW any comment on the PAP2T from these guys?

Says brand new with warranty but $30 Tax in is kindda low for that.

The OBi100 is definitely the better product and well worth the $14. This is not to say the VoIP features of the SPA3102 are "bad", just that the OBi devices are built on newer/better technology. Curiously, I've found no echo problems with OBi/VoIP.ms, but I did with SPA/VoIP.ms (before tweaking). So apparently I disagree with rilles.
The OBi also has better DTMF (touch-tone) handling and its dial plan is significantly more configurable than SPA devices.

Decided to get a Obi110 as I wanted to slowly phase out my Primus service. Set up the outgoing with Anveo and the incoming is still Primus (Primus ATA --> POTS port on Obi110). So far I am pretty happy with the performance of both the Obi and Anveo. Will probably port after a month or so if things are going OK.

i don't quite understand the choice between the linksys and the obi ? Is there a major difference ? I am testing the SPA3102 right now and it is okay.. what the Obi will give me more in term of reliability and options?

No matter you use linksys or the obi;when we use VOIP, we need to distinguish network quality as we can input: ping XXXXXX(IP address or DNS),and click menu “Start” > “Run” > input “command” > click “Enter” to go to MSDOS in windows interface first. Ping statistics for XXXXXXXXXX:Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 3, Lost = 1 (25% loss);Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:Minimum = 151ms, Maximum = 300ms, Average = 240ms. So when the result is there is no loss and the maximum and average should be within 400 ms, the network is good for using VOIP telephone.
