As part of a case analysis i'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas - small, large, risky, or outrageous, please let me know.
I'm mainly interested in the search engine industry/ social media industry in the US

Some basic information:
Yahoo has gone through many ceo's in the last 5 years
recently got a new CEO, who previously worked at google, google is main competitor
seems to lack general direction now
Has few billion dollars in cash but currently decreasing revenues,

Some ideas generated so far:
Invest in R&D/ high tech for any products that they think can be #1 or #2 in their chosen markets
Merge or acquire or get acquired companies: ie. AOL or RIM, Microsoft, etc

thanks!

Turn itself into a bank, and then get bailout money. Merge will all the tech losers; Myspace, AOL, RIM, etccc, get so large as to become too big to fail, and then get bailout money.

Anything Yahoo puts their name on these days go to crap. They should funnel new innovations through subsidiary companies so that nobody knows it is coming from Yahoo.
