Hi all, my friend has a cable modem from a previous roger's subscription. After seeing how well priced/reliable my DSL from Teksavvy has been, she's thinking of going with Teksavvy as well.

She has an existing modem from her Roger's subscription, a SMC router, model #SMC8014W-G. Now I know this used to be on the list of supported modems according to this rfd thread:
http://forums.redflagdeals.com/teksavvy-cable-internet-ontario-rates-updated-300gb-unlimited-873496/8/#post11291985

However, it's no longer on the current list on Teksavvy's site.

Anyone have this modem, or would be able to comment if this would work or not?

Thanks in advance!

if its not on the list. it will not be activated.
only modems on the list will be activated.
also previously owned modems are iffy. sometimes some customers leave rogers and leave an unpaid balance.
when rogers checks that modems s/n it can see the entire previous customer history and if there is still an amount owing.
if there is the modem is flagged and is not activated. this applies to all cableco's

Ah, I see. Thanks for the info, I'll pass it along.
