Why is it that people in rust buckets don't drive cautiously on the higway/on the road?
I always see rusted minivans swerving in and out of traffic on the 401, not to mention other old vehicals. Whenever I see a crappy car driving beside me I always switch lanes just to be safe.
Is it jus tme or do others do this too?

must be just you. I don't care about the condition of the car and how it looks, a nice looking car can have poor suspension or brakes and a crappy looking car can have perfect mechanical maintenance.
I try to stay away from aggressive drivers in general but thats probably because I am an aggressive driver my self.

Hard to isolate the stereotypes that I find when I drive. But taxis are always aggressive expecially in the downtown core. Work trucks are like that too. I always see old ***** corollas driving slow on the 401. But thats expected, some of them can't even go past 140. And it takes 30 secs to accelerate. Hella dangerous imo. My ex had a old corolla and I couldn't stand driving it, coming from a high performance vehicle.

I avoid driving in the vicinity of luxury SUV's (Mercedes, BMW and Lexus).
They're either clueless and slow or aggressive as s****e cutting everyone off only to get 1 car ahead.

What you should be more worried about is being parked next to one of these hillbillies when they fling their doors open and their door kisses yours. :-0

Yes this is a type of stereotype..............think about it, I've seen 15-20 year old cars that run great because the owners maintain them and drive them in a manner that allows them to last that long. Yet as many know, rust never dies so the mindset is, as long as I maintain it and drive carefully, it's reliable, can't do much about the rust since it's already been repaired once and it came back.

It's not the car you want to avoid, it's the person behind the wheel
But I do always steer clear of any driving school vehicle, especially student trucks

Sure... it might be stereotypical to classify people with older and less valuable cars as more reckless, but it just seems to me like they take more chances with their vehicals compared to those driving newer/more expensive vehicles.

You should stay off the road altogether if you want to avoid bad drivers. They are more prevalent than good ones these days.
