Best Buy and Future Shop have this 50" 1080P 60HZ LCD for $499 this week. It's only $50 off of BB's regular price, $100 off FS's, but in this price range that kind of drop is significant, IMO. This TV gets amazingly good comments on the US site, considering it's price. It might be a decent choice for those looking for an inexpensive large screen LCD for gaming or monitor use.

One aspect that may sweeten up the deal significantly is the Best Buy HDTV In Stock Guarantee, which offers a $50 discount and free delivery if a BB store is out of stock of any HDTV. Presently I don`t see any stores here OOS, but this may change later in the week. If you can find a store OOS that would be $449 and free delivery.

Thx clicked. Good deal.
Dynex/Isnignia is the only reason I'd be disappointed if BB/FS went under.

Online TV's over 43" are all $50 shipping, to most areas, 43" and under are free. The BB HDTVISG is your only hope for free shipping on a 50".

It's interesting how many of the Dynex/Insignia models get glowing comments from owners. A lot of people never even consider them, and just jump to a name brand that costs $100-$200 more, that may be made in the same Chinese plant. Outsourcing being what it is these days. Even Panasonic is doing it this year with their small LCD's.

Another glowing review here... got a 32" Insignia about 7 years ago, great picture quality & never had any issues with it. Would have no problems getting an Insignia again and am really intersted in this deal!

Thanks for the feedback. So far no OOS stores here in the GTA.

I thought thats how dynex tv's are? Best buy provides the 1 year warranty and just exchanges it if u have problems? I could be wrong though.

I'm not absolutely certain either, but the way I understand it BB Geek Squad administers the warranty repairs on these two brands. So it is not necessarily an automatic exchange, but often they do just switch them for efficiency's sake. It appears that they do offer in home service on these, so it seems possible that they will come and inspect it and just issue a store credit, or exchange it, if seriously defective, without having to schlep it back to a store.

Great thanks OP picked one up. I also have a 32" Insignia and it's been a great TV so for the price I think they are definitely worth it.

i bought a 32" Insignia 3 years ago for a good price and its still running great for watching hd tv off a cable box, but connect any other device to it and there's an overscan issue that insignia will no longer fix via new firmware. only discovered this after warranty expired. overall, i'm still a fan of insignia/dynex. but i will test any new purchase vigorously before the window for return ends. this i strongly recommend, even if the price is great.

BTW I forgot to remind everyone about using a credit card for the purchase, to get a free 1 year warranty extension, if your card offers this, which many do.

I think The LG 47" 120HZ LCD HDTV 1080P WITH SELF CALIB on sale Friday on Dell for $549 is still better than this one

It's a 2011 model, assuming it is the 47LK520, but it gets good reviews and has lots of features. Now at $599 though.

In your OP, you say bestbuy gives you $50 discount if any TV is OOS. Does that mean if something like 40 inch samsung is OOS at a particular store, I can get $50 off for the 50 inch insignia? or does it need to be the same model?

Of course the same model, wtf
Say you wanna buy X and X is not in stock, BB would give you 50$ off item X and give you free shipping

yes, that's what I had thought. But OP could have been interpreted other ways because i'm not familiar with bestbuy's policy.
dunno why people keep putting up ($-50 + free delivery at BB?) in OP when there is no confirmed store that is OOS. it's a wishful thinking.
It's like saying 'possible PM opportunity' when there is no other store with lower price, but there *might be a chance that another retailer might go on sale on the product.
went to check it out - was tempted more for the 42 inch LED for $499, but no sale so came back empty handed. I think I'll wait until LED TV sale..

I doubt it will hit 299 anytime soon. Their cost is 470 (saw when I was getting price adjusted, bought 2 weeks ago at 549).
Haven't had any problems and picture seems good enough. Not really and HDTV expert though.

Here's a link to my old thread about the HDTVISG.
http://forums.redflagdeals.com/best-buy-hdtv-stock-guarantee-back-50-off-free-shipping-oos-tvs-1033274/
I usually put that ($-50 + free delivery at BB?) in the title if there is at least one store showing OOS locally here. I usually mention it as a possibility in the OP text if there is no obvious OOS situation, a) because I don't check stock throughout the whole country, so it could well be easily done in other provinces, and b) because the store stock levels can change rapidly on items in the flyer, so at least people are aware of the possibility. This is how I phrased it in this thread.
"One aspect that may sweeten up the deal significantly is the Best Buy HDTV In Stock Guarantee, which offers a $50 discount and free delivery if a BB store is out of stock of any HDTV. Presently I don`t see any stores here OOS, but this may change later in the week. If you can find a store OOS that would be $449 and free delivery."

Last day for this deal.
For those in the GTA, I see one store, Warden, that is showing OOS. If that info is accurate and they haven't got some unopened units lying around in their new shipment, that is an op for the HDTVISG for $449 and free delivery.
