Didnt see this post by anyone else here, but looks like there is a price error on GARMIN NUVI 255WT GPS at the Source

Though not available online, my quick search showed that NewMarket store still had one in stock. Didnt check availability at all stores though. All the best!

I don't think it's a price error. This is an old GPS

Date first available at Amazon.ca: Aug 6 2009

Yep, pretty old.. even with updated maps I don't think it's worth it since touch screens on GPS units weren't so great at the time. (I.e., input lag, slower microprocessors, etc.)

I wish one of the big GPS brands would create units with video cameras on the back. GPS + Dashcam would be when I upgrade my current GPS unit.

Many people got it for $49.98 at Staples Feb 26, 2011.

agreed. was looking for that thread. definitely not a price error. i wonder if these practices are legal? telling customers they are saving $140 when, in fact, its not true...

LOL. We were talking about that on Friday when a transport was weaving back and forth over lane lines, looking like someone fighting to stay awake.

This is a super old model. It's not even worth $40 now. It doesn't even have traffic updates.

Plus it's just an awful GPS considering what's out on the market today. I have one and I want to toss it out the window while driving. It takes over 5 minutes to find its satellite so half the time it's not even worth starting up. And then it sometimes just gets lost and thinks you're on a different street (not in a new/changed part of town either). It's just slow as heck, if I don't go the way it wants, it recalculates so slowly that sometimes I actually have to slow down to let it catch up before I pass any more streets. No surprise it's from The Source, they probably still have some computers laying around in the back somewhere that aren't Internet-ready.

Easy to update if you search a little bit on the web. I'm running the 2012 maps on mine.

It also has traffic avoidance, for whenever there are scheduled road closures on major routes and regular traffic too. Not perfect, but the price is great. Sold out in East York, Toronto.
