I mistakenly formatted Garmin nuvi 255W GPS and I am out of warranty. Repair cost by Garmin support is near than original price of new device.
Does anyone knows how to fix it?

not sure if this (http://www.noeman.org/gsm/garmin-discussions/141886-formatting-garmin-nuvi-crashed-now-does-not-start.html) will work but a quick search on Google turned up:

"You can get back some of your files through Garmin WebUpdater. Download Webupdater from Garmin & connect nuvi via usb.

You need to know your nuvi's "region" EU, US or TW and goto respective web site and get software update for 255W, for some of the missing system file"

Call up garmin and they can remotely fix it for you. But they need to remote access your computer connected to the gps

Go here and ask in the Garmin forum. If it can be reinstalled they will know. You probably will get ti install the latest software your device can use

Oops excuse me for delay reply.
