Hi, hoping to start a useful thread to help get better search results when using www.google.ca or www.google.com.

Anyways, I'll start with a first tip and hopefully others will add useful tips.

I recently discovered the use of "site: ", when you use this, your results returned from google will remain from that site only, it's pretty cool. It is very useful when the site's search is not very good.

Try it out with, I put futureshop as an example, let say we were looking for Canon products (searching through their site search is pretty good though):

go to www.google.ca, type in the search box "site:www.futureshop.ca Canon", notice all the results will be returned from www.futureshop.ca

Two great resources for Google search tips:

http://www.google.com/insidesearch/tipstricks/

Google can easily do conversions & calculations for you. It will also give you stock quotes, flight info, sports results, definitions, movie times & more!
