Hi,

What Android Tablets on the market now do you think have the best feature/price ratio?

I'm going to Hongkong for a few days, so I'm planning to take advantage of the opportunity to buy a tax free Tablet there. Anybody can recommend some good (in quality/price ratio) electronic shops in Kowloon please?

Thanks

Best Android tablet to get for price would be a Nexus7.

Nexus 7 isn't available in Asia yet
maybe some HK stores would sell some cheap Chinese tablets... it should be cheaper than ordering online.
and the best bet to shop electronics is probably in sham shui po

OP, you didn't say what specs are you looking for or price range.

Best buy has these 10": Asus Transformer Pad $400 ($520 with keyboard/case/battery) or Acer Iconia A700 $450, both are 32GB, Tegra3, Acer has a better screen at 1920x1200
These are not cheap but I think they're amongst the best spec tablets on the market.

I don't have a specs or price range before, because I was clueless.
Now seems that Google's Nexus7 is hard to beat price-wise and feature/price ratio.

Thanks everyone!

There are known problems regarding the Nexus 7 so watch out for them.

I recently purchased the Asus TF300T tablet and I'm extremely happy with it. Although the Nexus 7 is a great price and I was considering it, the dealbreaker for me is that it didn't have an SD Card slot.....

I prefer my Acer icona a100 over the nexus. However it all depends on you're needs and I bought mine on sale for $199 not the inflated $279 they are now.

Maybe grab some of the newer China tabs if you can. Easy to dump if you end up changing your mind.

The Nexus 7 will hands down be a better experience and look slicker. However, the A100 does have the HDMI, SD slot, and rear camera. The only problem that was a killer for me in the A 100 is the horrible viewing angles. However, if you say clear of viewing the Nexus 7 and its vastly superior 1280x800 resolution the Iconia A100 is not bad. However why would I wish to purchase a tablet with outdated technology when there are other options? There is also the Samsung Galxy Tab 2 at $247.99 with SD and camera.

I think Nexus 7 is the latest and greatest Android tablet in the market. The Nexus 7's specs are pretty impressive for a $199 tablet, too. Built by hardware manufacturer ASUS, it’s got a reasonable 1280x800 HD screen, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, and 8GB or 16GB of onboard storage, all powered by a quad-core Tegra 3 processor. The real hardware surprise, though, is what’s pushing those pixels: Google opted to include a hearty 12-core graphics processor, with the goal of making the Nexus 7 a capable gaming device.

i didn't like the screen on the a100 too. also found it to be thick for something so small.

it's on sale at fs for $200 this week if anyone is interested.

From my views, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is the best Android tablet. You can use it as an alternative of iPad 2 and its thinner and lighter than iPad 2.

ThanksAre you patient with Android upgrades or are you the type that wants the latest updates? If you are the latter then get a Nexus 7 tablet from Google.

If you don't mind waiting a few months for the manufacturer to release their own updates or if you're comfortable flashing 3rd party ROMs then get a tablet from Acer, Samsung, or Asus.

As others have mentioned the Acer A100 is a good price bargain(if you can get it for under $200) as it has a MicroSD slot, HDMI output, GPS, and rear camera which is all missing on the Nexus 7.

I have a Samsung 10.1 and its a great Tablet until you use the Nexus 7. This 7" Tablet out performs the Samsung by a country mile. Its smoother and games load and play faster. Of course Samsung has the outdated Honeycomb 3.2. who knows when they will update. Its been promised for months.

Yes but this is to be expected when you buy newly released devices that are powered by newer processors.

Agreed 100%, Can't compare a older product to a newly released one.
